Seemingly Random BSOD error 0x00000124

I've been having an issue for a few months now where my monitor will randomly flicker lines of pixels while I'm playing games or even when I'm just on the desktop. Eventually my PC will freeze up displaying a solid block of colour (not the BSOD screen), sometimes with lines of pixels going across. I've attached my latest .dmp file.

It's worth noting that when the screen freezes up, even though I can't see what is going on applications on windows remain running for a bit. I know this because when the screen freezes I can still talk to people on Skype . Eventually though there is a loud buzzing sound, and windows shuts itself down. I never actually see the BSOD because my monitor remains corrupted.

Things I have tried to fix the issue
- A different monitor - Ended up seeing the exact same random graphical glitches on the monitor, though don't remember whether it ever got to the point of crashing my PC

- Switching from a HDMI to DVI cable and back, neither improved the monitors flickering
- Running on integrated graphics fixed the problem, thus leading me to suspect the GPU
- Sent the GPU back to the company where I bought the PC ADMI, and they sent it back saying 'no faults were found' with the GPU after sending it to their technical team
-Also I'm certain my diplay drivers are installed correctly, I'm using the Catalyst omega 14.12 drivers from AMD, and have also tried the newer beta drivers but they didn't help the problem
- I've disabled all types of hardware acceleration I can since I've heard it can caus issues with AMD GPU's
- I've run memtest getting 9 passes with no errors
-I've monitored my PC temperatures I'm sure my GPU isn't overheating most of the time keeping below 60 even when playing intensive games
-I've previously done a clean install of windows


Things to note-

The first time my PC ever BSOD, was when I first used my newer ben q monitor, though I remember seeing some graphical corruption in my old monitor it never BSOD

Whatever I do I can't seem to reproduce the flickering, it really does seem to be at random times. When I see one flicker it'll happen regularly for a while till it just stops. Nor can I reproduce the BSOD.

I'm really stumped about how to fix this issue :/ It's be really kind of someone to help me out.

It is a stop ox124, which is supposed to be a hardware error, but it may be anything and everything associated with the computer. And it requires a lot of tests to determine which is failing actually.

I've been troubleshooting using the steps in 0x124 post. I ran memtest and got 9 passes. After over the next few days my PC got worse and worse and the flickering started to happen more frequently, leaving me on one day where I BSOD with the exact same 0x00000124 error code 5 or 6 times. So I tried physically removed one of my sticks of ram, tried to run a game and immediatly BSOD. so Removed the other stick of ram and my system seems a lot more stable.

But having said that though there's been no crashes, I did notice the screen flicker on the odd occasion. Could bad ram have corrupted my display driver???

No, RAM does not corrupt the display driver.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us. Also let us know if you have experienced any crash/BSOD and/or artifacts during the test.

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

Also let us know the wattage of the installed PSU.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Sorry its been a while. I've attached screenshots of the tests you recommended.

I'm seeing an error I hadn't noticed before. That my display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered. This comes up sometimes when my PC seems like its about to crash with the screen going random colours and flickering, but instead of blue screening and restarting itself it recovers.

I've also noticed that the crashes and flickering are a lot more common when playing games. Sometimes when the display drivers crash and recover I'm left with a corrupted mouse or in some cases, corrupted images in the game I was playing.

The times when my PC does fully crash and shut down I'm still getting the 0x00000124 bluescreen error as before.

Finally on the odd occasion my screen goes a solid colour but dosen't shut down. I can't see or interact with the desktop but applications such as skype remain running. And I either have to shut the PC down manually, or sometimes removing and putting back the hdmi cable from the monitor fixes it.

Also I forgot to say my psu is the Corsair vs650, 650 watt power supply.

You need to change the graphics card.

But before that, apply any other version of the display driver as a test, with a positive expectation that teh driver might cause any change.
