My bad not to insist that I meant only those kind of windows, reghakr, sorry.
I agree that is often very useful to copy and paste elsewhere some information from OS's windows as specifications, error messages etc. You could also use the snipping tool but it takes considerably more time and probably you have to type the text anyway.

Ok, reghakr, now I feel more at ease since it is not only in my case. I have also known of that psr tool which seems to me quite interesting. Thanks for the link to SIW, actually I've just uninstalled cpu_z and was about to install SIW for that task.

Many, many thanks for your patience.
Best regards.

I have been having the same problem of not being able to select text from a given web page and being able to copy it to paste to Notepad or to somewhere else that I wanted to save the selection.

I started looking around the icons in my Toolbars and I discovered that some how the "Panning Hand" had been clicked. When I clicked on it again to unselect it, I am now able to select text from a web page to cut-and-paste else where.

I am going to have to read up on what the "Panning Hand" function is as I do not have a clue!

I just thought I would pass this on.

Cathy
