You would not believe how long ive thought about this,Still it drives me crazy!

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to sell my gaming rig in sig and just buy a PS3 Slim or 360 Slim for when i want to game?

I already have a Laptop that can take over basic internet use

(Now for the long part :D)

Im a gamer and do still enjoy gaming,But this past 4 months or so ive hardly played any on the Pc,i was bored today and launched BC2 and left the game within a few mins because its just got boring AND ive had nothing but trouble with pc games in the past like sound problems (BC2) like not hearing some stuff,Then GTA IV i lost my save game file for some unknown reason...started it again then had a problem with windows and needed to re-install and never bothred playing GTA IV again.

see the way i see it now,im using this gaming rig for basic internet use nearly 98% of the time now so powering a powerfull HD4890,Overclocked Q6600 and 3 hard drives plus a load of other crap is sure to be just a huge waste of electric right + pumping up the bills?

Thats why i thought why the hell not just sell the gaming pc,get at least £500 for it,buy a Ps3 at £220ish and put whast left over in the bank.

Just fed up with Pc gaming and all the crap it brings but i cant decide what to do.

I game almost exclusively on my 360 because the games just work, my 360 is in my living room so I can be around the family and I never have to worry about system requirements.

The graphics on my PC are better...but things are easier on my 360. Games are usually more elaborate on the PC...but that means I have to hide away in the basement where my computer is at to play it...while my 360 is in the living room and I can spend time with the family while I am playing.

why dont you just bring the pc up?
Because I don't really have a place big enough to put it. I'm not going to put it into the living room as it doesn't really fit it with the decor and such. So, it sits in my office area in the basement.

I agree with pparks1's statement about the games working and not worrying aobut system requirements.

My take: Whenever I get tired of gaming, I still have a pc. With my pc NOT playing games, I can still: surf the web, edit video, edit photos, record my cassettes to digital formats, watch DVD and Blu-Ray, talk to relatives and friends via Skype, make a document or spreadsheet, go to my favorite auction website, and so on and so on and so on.

When you're not gaming on your pc you STILL have a pc!

Keep the pc. Downgrade the gaming parts. You can make some of the money back by selling the parts. Then use that money to GAIN your console. Then enjoy the best of both.

The graphics on my PC are better..

How much better is your 9800GTXs graphics compared to the 360s on a score of 1-10 would you say? with 10 been the highest?

Just trying to get a rough idea,Ive not seen a store with one on or know of any friends that has a 360 to try out you see so its kind of hard to know what its like other that watching GTA IV clips on youtube.

Poll is Tied atm :P

Well, a lot depends upon the game I'd say. I've seen games on both platforms that look great and others look terrible.

To compare just what I know (and not take into account the fact there are FAR better video cards than a 9800GTX)...since the 9800GTX provides the best graphics (in my house)I'd have to give it a 10. For the 360, I'd give it a 7.

So, while the graphics are better....i wouldn't describe it as a night and day difference. Or put another way...when Call of Duty comes out....I wouldn't consider doing the PC version because it looks better over the 360. That wouldn't even be a consideration for me.

The best answer :) I used to have a 360 and enjoyed it very much but it got RROD, I'm thinking of getting a new slim version with my PC for a bit of STRATEGY gaming and web use.

The only thing that puts me off getting a console is that im into FPS games, and going from a mouse and keyboard to a Pad would probably be horrible right?

I suppose its alright for games like GTA IV and racing games,But FPS...mmm?

Yeh sell me that Intel Q6600 and get a console ;)

No only joking. I'd never consider getting rid of my PC and even though i have a Xbox 360 i play games on my PC 99% of the time. I personally like the challenge when i come across some game/software that doesn't want to run just so i can figure out how to fix it.

Plus i'm a great believer of playing FPS's on keyboard and mouse. I've tried it on the Xbox and no matter how much i put the sensitivity up on the joypad it still feels nowhere near as precise as my keyboard/mouse and the aiming is just wrong on a joypad IMO.

To be honest the only reason i have my Xbox is to stream movies etc from my PC to it in the living room. Allthough i do also have a DVD player that can still play more Divx, Mpeg formats than my Xbox can handle. Apart from that it sits there (With the pile of games for it) gathering dust.

The best advice i can give you is to save for a Console and keep your PC as you will no doubt miss it when it's gone.

Good luck with whatever you decide anyway ;)
