So here's my problem for any of you experts out there. If i click on my disk defragmenter from any part of my computer it wont even open. I tried running the .exe from cmd and nothing.
Secondly and more importantly (most likely related) my restore function will not work. I have restore points saved and if i try to run system restore it works all the way up to the last step and it even asks me if I'm sure I want to do and the typical "can't be undone" message. Then it tells me there are errors in disk C:\ and it can't be restored.
So why in the world could this be happening? I think I know. My system is running on windows 7 and linux mint in a dual boot. These two problems occurred simultaneously. I would like to know exactly how to re-associate windows with the part of my hard drive controlling restores and defragging. I've searched google for endless hours trying to be successful in finding an answer as to why this happens.
One last side note I use my computer for gaming a lot and a week ago my controller stopped functioning properly on my computer. I use a 360 controller (wired) and it works fine on any xbox. when connected to the computer the home button flashes green once and then nothing. I've tried seeing if it was a driver fault and downloaded a new one from microsoft's website. Still nothing.
So for clarity I have an ASUS bamboo, i5 processor, 650gb hdd, 6g DDR RAM, Dual Booted with windows 7 and linux mint installed via a usb drive.
PLEASE HELP ME!
