What are you doing to your services that you need to "migrate" to a new system? Hopefully not disabling them.

AFAIK, there is no way of saving the windows services configuration and then import it to a new install. The closest thing I know of is the SMART tool developed by Lee Whittington (SF member).

Tweak Windows Services with SMART Utility : HomePage | The Windows Club

What this tool does is to let you set services as Safe, Tweaked and Advanced as per Blackviper's site. So you can choose either of these 3 presets in a single mouse click. It doesnt let you do anything more customized. Also, theres nothing this tool does that you cant do manually, just makes it quicker.

While he has changed his tune a bit, there's a reason he's known as QuackViper for several years now. Facts, tests, and retests have all shown that tweaking the built-in services yield nothing positive, and can only lead to system instability. Microsoft's own Windows developers participated in tests run by HardOCP and Anandtech years ago when XP was dominant, and have been rehashed with each new Windows OS since. The results always remain the same...that nothing is gained (nothing positive, that is). It's been very well proven that you don't recoup resources from disabling services, and you don't gain anything in performance. On many other forums, such as HardForum and Anandtech, it isn't even debated anymore...it's accepted as fact, as it should be.

It has been, and always will be the best tweaking advice for Windows 7: Leave it alone. The problem is, some people aren't willing to do any reading on the subject, and will still debate this left and right. However, if you do some reading, you'll find out the facts real quick.

I know I sound like a broken record, but any Windows forum is going to be full of people having issues after they've "tweaked" their systems.

As a PSA to anyone, please read up on the subject and leave your services alone!!!
