Set minimum length for double-click

Hello,
Is there a way to set a minimum length for double-clicking? Through Windows you can adjust the maximum length, but I do not see any option to adjust minimum length.

Essentially my mouse has started detected two quick presses from one press due to a hardware issue. This causes double-clicking when I am attempting to single click. If I could set a minimum length of say 0.25 seconds, I believe this would solve the issue.

3rd party program is acceptable if needed.

Mark I am wondering what you are actually after as in my pic is the only way I know of setting the click speed. It in turn will be buried in the registry somewhere but unless you are really sure of what you are doing best left alone.
Personally I prefer single click too.

It could be done with third party software but I have never hard of such. But again, where is the need?

Yes mate basically what I said and I don't know about you but it does depend too on how fats one can actually double click

In the pic I showed the only way I know to set the click speed (and also the sped of the mouse on the screen) and there has to be some registry entry for this but again why muck about with something in there.

That might work in Windows itself but much software will require or be limited without double click.

Yep mate point taken but all that is then needed is the double click even set to single click.Well that is in my experience at least.

Faulty hardware, yes. This only happens once every 8-10 clicks, so still useable mostly.

I don't have an issue with folders however, although it still does happen sometimes of course. My issue is with a few other programs that use the double-click functionality. As a random example, an accidental double click on a library video file in Premiere will cause it to load and start playing in the preview monitor.

I still use the double click method as I have found programs actually load faster than if I use the single click.
There may not be a noticeable difference with an HDD, but with a SSD there is a noticeable difference.
