Hi. I have 2 PCs set up as a home group using wi-fi. Problem is I needed to format PC 'A'.

How do I set it up on a home group to connect to PC 'B'? Is there a way of getting PC 'B' to reveal its home group ID a large alpha numeric number?

Thanks.

Will still need to set up PC 'A' to work with a home group and enter the home group ID.

It's simpler to just use workgroup as that is active by default and less hassle than homegroup

Confused. This is 2 computers at home on a private network. What is the problem with Home group?

Dos is not my thing. Will wait till another day of the week when someone can help.

I had a look on the internet and it said you need to have a home group to use a work group. You said NO don't use home group.

Setting up home group asks for a name. computers don't have names and I cant say share with John, George, Paul or Ringo. There are no names and asked to share with a website domain is stupid.

Homegroup SUCKS!!!!! I wasted nearly 2 weeks trying to get it to work. You do NOT need to set up a Homegroup to use Workgroup.

Computers DO have names. Try a Google search.
