Solved Setting up Win 7 to see chromecast on local network.

Not sure if this is the best place for advice on this but Google said it was a win 7 problem.

I just installed a chromecast which can be seen on my local network on my Android tab 2, net book XP, Vista but not in win 7.
I think my wireless router ( Linksys E3200 ) is fine because Vista is on the same laptop as my Win 7 (dual boot ) and it can see the chromecast on the local network, as well as the net book on XP.

Any suggestions on what setting to check on Win 7 network.

Hi there,

Is the issue wireless? If it is, try a wired connection.

I'd try to Power cycle your devices, here's how.

Do you have a dual-band router? If it's using both standards 2.4GHz and 5GHz, try disabling the 5GHz.

Tried all of the above and still no joy. Spent too much time trying to this figure it out. I can still use Vista for chromecast for crome internet tab play backs like PBS. Android works fine but only works with YouTube, not paying for Netflix have cable. Am seriously looking at changing over to a mac book pro. Can still run win 7 in Parallel mode.

Solved,
Had a Nettalk app in Adaptor settings, un-ticked and chromecast appeared and now working fine.
