settings for window7x64 to over clock Video cards

Hi
Did not know where to post on windows 7 or overclock section went with this one.
Now, I have a windows xp pro x 32 and windows 7 pro x 64 on duel boot setup.
I'm running - AMD ATHLON X2 6400+ CPU,ASUS MOMBO,4 GIGS OF RAM,2 CROSSFIRED
ATI 2900 PRO VIDEO CARDS 1GB EACH,1000 POWER SUPPLY.
I can boot up windows xp and go to ATI Catalyst latest version and overclock my card to 777/850 no problem.
I boot windows 7 and go to ATI Catalyst go and try to overclock and try is the object word because no go test fails even if I try to overclock to 550/650.
I am learning windows 7, I'm thinking there is a setting somewhere on windows 7 that I am missing that won't let me overclock my cards,or a setting is set to a wrong valve.
If anyone can shed some light on the subject it would be greatly appreciated.

there is a program called RivaTuner might be of some use

RivaTuner is for nVidia cards if I'm not mistaken.

AMD Fusion is probably what you're looking for and you can read about and get it here: Fusion Utility for Desktops

This will work as well, though I don't know how it would work for crossfire.
Also, the tutorial itself applies to all GPU OCing.

Thanks for all the comebacks on my problem.
What is bugging the heck out of me is that when I boot up on windows xp the ATI Catalyst overdrive works perfect I have been running 777/850 on my 2900 pros for two years and are still set on the same clocks right now. But when I boot up on windows 7 and try of set the same clocks I am running on xp I get this message from windows 7 popup "drivers stopped responding and windows has recovered" basically my PC crashed. If I'm using same PC on both xp and window 7 on a duel boot configuration the only thing that is different is the OS, that is way I think there is a setting or value out of wack on windows 7 because it should let me overclock my video cards at least to the same clocks that xp is running.
Had riva tuner already installed use it to set fan speeds on Video cards works very well so overclocked the cards from it I guess the catalyst does not like windows 7 but the problem is fixed Thanks again for the help Raner and catch you all later.
