Ok I have been trying to overclock my AMD Cpu from 2.5 to 3.0 GHZ but i have failed. The highest i can get to is 2.93 with (12.5 x 234), do i need to alter other things as well and if yes what should i do.

Thanks for any help on this because i dont really have a clue about over clocking.

Most definitely. But before you burn up your computer, why don't you read the tutorial posted in the stickys on the main page of Overclocking and Case Mods

Become familiar with what you're doing before your next post is looking for advice on what parts to buy because you fried this pc.

If you truly want help, there are others, as well as I, who will help you out, but no one wants to see you fry your pc.

The 4800+ never was a great CPU for overclocking and to be honest you won't see much benefits from 2.93 to 3 Ghz ... so I would settle for what you've already achieved (as long as it's stable) ;)

i was made to tweak that like 3 years ago, lol... i cant remember but i got it up to 3.1ghz with zalman, have you messed with RAM voltages, if not read the tutorial and start OVER.

also you really wont see much improvement from 2.93 to 3ghz
