Since this is a laptop, it should have the factory default hidden partition with the vendors software to restore laptop back to factory condition, the day you first turned it on.

Back up your data, Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup to enable Legacy BIOS if present. Next check BIOS Boot order for an EFI Boot Disk and if present remove it, set DVD drive first to boot, HD second. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed OS version here.

At first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT

Next click Install Now, then Custom install to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition read over these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.

Trigger the flash stick by setting it first to boot in BIOS setup, or use the one-time BIOS BOot menu key at boot.

Once installer loads, at first screen asking for language, instead press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box.

Fill in your System Specs in bottom left corner of post.

Did you do everything in Post #3? Go back over it and make sure you didn't miss any step or command.

Set the HD first to boot in BIOS setup, then trigger the flash stick to boot using one-time BIOS Boot menu key at boot.

Plug the target HD alone into Disk0 slot.

Do you have an EFI BIOS? If so try UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums. If not you need to make sure Secure Boot is turned off and Legacy BIOS is enabled, then Clean the disk again and run "Convert MBR" command before trying install.

This can also be due to the flash stick installer. Can you try another DVD drive (and yes I know your DVD drive doesn't work, which is why I said "another DVD drive"), an external DVD drive, or try another flash stick? If not try writing to stick using the latest official ISO with UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive.

The steps in Post #3 ask you to report back the exact step where install fails and the error message you receive.

Try writing the confirmed ISO for your licensed version to flash stick using UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive which never fails.

Boot the flash stick by setting it first to boot in BIOS setup or tapping the Compaq boot menu key at boot to select flash stick. Does it appear by name? Look for it under HD's, USB, or Removable.

Once you boot in follow the steps in Post 3 to wipe the HD first. Then viruses are not a concern.

Remember to adjust the settings in BIOS setup first as written in Post 3.

Confirm you have done all of these steps so we can help you better.
