I'm with Cap'n Jack Sparrow on this one in that I think all the Guru crew will receive the award before long.
I for sure hope not, I would not like to see this award go on sale.
And, to be honest although nobody wants to say it aloud, quite a many gurus and gold members have earned their badges mostly on chillout, welcoming new members and congratulating each other on each new turd which they quite often earn following the "you scratch my bag, I scratch your bag" principle.
Contributing to a community, as the name of the award says, can of course also be keeping the spirits up and chatting, being active, but contributing on a technical forum as the Seven Forums should also include some problem solving and helping, at least when we speak about awards.
I am plesed that Microsoft did not create an award automat, that this award really needs to be earned. I am pleased only so few got it. Although some of my candidates did not receive the award now, I think the ones we got went to correct members. I am especially pleased about Wolfgang getting award, having bad conscience because I forgot him from my list of nominees...
I very sincerely hope the award needs also in the future something more than a certain amount of posts and a certain amount of days as a member.
Once again, I am congratulating you geeks. You made history today; Microsoft has never before recognised a non-Microsoft site or forums so extraordinary clearly.
In quite festive mood,
Kari
