Seven vs Eight Forum usage

Hi,

Maybe Brink can answer a question I have...
Any stats on the number of forum users (those that have a forum account) for this forum in April of 2010 to compare with the same for the Eight forum for April 2013?
As both OS's were release in October 7 in 2009 and 8 in 2012.

Anyone think this would be a good way to see real usage of Windows Eight compared to Seven?

Just a little idea...

it wouldnt be that accurate, i have windows 8 as my main OS but i rarely post over there, sevenforums is my home.

Same here...sort of. I was looking at win8 during the initial builds, and have an account there, but don't have win8 installed....

I go to Windows 8 forums to view the threads about the Windows 8 users, who make it irrational reasons why Windows 8 is better than Windows 7

I have seven on my old Mac (Mac OS is a distant memory) and eight on my laptop. I don't really prefer one forum over the other, usually I just check my subscriptions and occasionally check the latest topics. Generally when i post a new thread, I'll post it to eightforums ONLY if I think it'll be more relevant there.

Never been to Windows 8 Forums Even though i do have a system with eight on it just mainly use it for testing purposes but really not that much interested in eight

Well I have an account on Eightforums but don't log in there that much even though I'm on my Windows 8 machine more than my Windows 7 machine these days.

Well it was just a little idea...

I also have an account on the Eight forums but rarely visit.
I figured that the Eight forum would've gotten a lot of people from Seven at the start so the numbers would be a bit skewed but at this point it might give a general picture of Eight vs Seven at the same point in release time...

I post everywhere . I joined Seven Forums at the end of April in 2010, and I am member number 80,769. Eight forums is currently at 20,510.

I dual boot Win 7 and Win 8 and visit both forums on a regular basis. I prefer this forum as there is always a lot of trash talk between a few members on the Win 8 forum and they keep repeating the same arguments about Windows 8.

Just hover over your post count on the left under your system info in any post of yours. Or right click your post count and select Copy link address, or whatever choice your browser gives. You are 74,269.

Yeah, it's tiring for sure. I thought it would stop after all the original Eight sucks news settled down (which I was posting often ), but a few have appointed themselves defender, or detractor of all that is MS there. A Guy

Yeah, I created an 8forums account when I really started to play with Windows 8 and do some testing. Since 8 was new, there was lots and lots to talk about. Thus, I tended to gravitate more towards just checking and posting to that forum on a daily basis since I had more to say there.

I've far from left Windows 7 behind. My new work laptop is running Windows 8 ( I enjoy the fast boots), and it was brand new, so figured why not get 8 and force it full time. With some tweaks, a start menu, etc...It's no issue for me at all. But the rest of my machines and such are Windows 7 and I have no intention of changing any of them at any point.

The endless love versus hate debates get to be tiresome after a while. Its getting to the point where I almost never go into the news section. The general section is getting bad too. There always seems to be somebody bating somebody else and the thread goes way off topic. I still try to offer tech support over there but its not as relaxing as it is here.

Rarely ever go on 8 forums, you can tell by comparing my post count here and over there. Prefer 7 forum.
