Seven vs Eight Forum usage

I very strongly disagree!

The mods and admins of both SF & EF are doing remarkable job. You need to think of proportions: together these two forums have over quarter of a million members who have posted over 2.5 million posts in over 250,000 threads. The staff cannot read every post, nobody can. They rely on our help so please report when you find a post that according to you should be edited or removed.

Considered how fast the post count increases, the staff is doing so outstanding job it never stops amazing me. If and when I press the report button to report a post I think is not proper, against the rules or too aggressive or whatever, I can see staff reacting very fast by either editing / removing the content I reported or telling me why they let it stay unedited.

The lack of active moderating, as you put it, is in my opinion more the laziness of members: We the members of these wonderful forums should be more active in showing our opinion by reporting offensive posts. We also should know better not to post offensive biased posts.

You can be sure the Admin and Mods are well aware of the posts there. They are no doubt not thrilled by the tone there, but I assume they haven't seen them cross the line. One member who did was removed. It may be tiresome to see a few go back and forth on the same thing over and over, but it's not against the rules. I'm sure there will be some conversation at some point as many members are fed up with it, and we can't have people avoiding the site because of it. As mentioned, our staff does a great job. Just hover over your post count on the left under your system info in any post of yours. Or right click your post count and select Copy link address, or whatever choice your browser gives. You are 74,269.

We have very active moderators, 99% of post reports are dealt with within a few minutes and most posts are read as they happen via our live post facility, the secret of successful moderation is doing it in moderation and let the community breath without overzealous editing and slaps.

As stated by everyone NEARLY all really.I disagree with you simply because. If i report a thread or post and even a simply little move of a thread they have always done it within a few minutes

I have 8 on my laptop and 7 on my desktop. I also visit both forums daily. I also prefer this forum over the 8 forum for the same reason. The endless love versus hate debates get to be tiresome after a while. Its getting to the point where I almost never go into the news section. The general section is getting bad too. There always seems to be somebody bating somebody else and the thread goes way off topic. I still try to offer tech support over there but its not as relaxing as it is here.

Honestly I'm thinking it's to the point where moderators should step in.

I'm Sorry but I must Defend my Seven Forums this statement is very untrue I have had nothing but 100% response from any Mod I have contacted on any issue this cuts me deep to hear this kind of mumbo jumbo

Personally if you feel they have not lived up to the standards what keeps you coming back ?

Never had any problems with the mod.'s here either. Only have had to report posts a couple of times, but they were taken care of immediately. Imho, this is one of the better moderated forums I belong/have belonged to.

I disagree most post i've reported are dealt with within minutes, i've also been warned if I posted I wasn't suppose to like this one time which was a rule I didn't know about and told in a mature and kind manner what I did wrong. In my opinion the mods are doing a great job.
