Hello, I've been updating this Lenovo laptop for a couple of days now. All windows updates are up to date, however when I ran sfc /scannow, it shows that there are still corrupted files.

This is my CBS log from the scan. (half of which I don't understand...)

My main question is: What do I have to do to repair the corrupted files?

Hope someone can help me. Thanks.

Hi Nkyoss,

The only problem appears to be Notepad, i know MS has been playing around with it.

If you can use it, you can safely ignore the reported corruptions.

If NOT please run SURT, KB947821.
post the results,

Roy

torchwood, Thanks for the help. There's no problem with my Notepad so I'll just let it be. :)

However, on another note... I did some research of my own when I first encountered the scannow problem, I also read somewhere about using SURT to repair the problem. Whereas, I didn't have it so I tried to install it manually several times before your advice but with no luck.

Should I worry about this?

I just did more research on how to use SURT. My mistake in thinking it was an update. The CheckSUR log I ran today says no errors detected, so I guess my problem is solved!

Thanks for your help!
