SFC will not finish - Quits at 72% 00000210 (F) c0000185 [Error,Facili

It all started with an inability to boot. Did a Restore point and booted but slow. Found out about sfc and ran it multiple times. Finds multiple problems, hits 72% and quits. Not sure where to go next. Log attached but the whole thing won't attach. Had to delete a lot.

Try SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

Run it up to 3 separate times to see if it will repair the files.

What are the exact performance problems?

I have run it at least 5 times. Boots slow - runs slow. SFC stops at the same 72% each time. Am working in Safe Mode until I figure this out.

on the booted Win7 installer or System Repair Disk

I could be way off the mark here but have you tried SFC or chkdsk in safe mode?

Yes - reverted to safe mode after it would not work in Administrator normal mode.

No errors with chkdsk. Did not try with /f - will try that next.
sfc will not run until repairs are completed with reboot. Rebooted multiple times with no change.

Is it on your system? Please post or describe permissions of that file

Not 100% sure but I see error 0x0185 in your cbs.log

so try chkdsk/f c: first

Not a memory error as far as I can understand. What trick did you do that causes this?

What program gives that error... chkdsk?

Test your RAM - Test with Memtest86+ CD for 5-6 passes or overnight to stress it.

Test your HD with maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD test, then run full Disk Check if necessary use Option Two from booted installer Command Line.

Confirm you ran SFC command from booted Win7 installer.

If these are all clear then I would consider a Repair Install or if your current install doesn't measure up do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which steps are same for retail, compiling what's worked best for tens of thousands of installs we've helped with here.

chkdsk completed - failed to transfer logged messaged to the event log - error 50 - no other errors
Ran sfc - no "cannot repair" entries
tiptsf.dll exists in winsxs
Permissions
for System, Administrators, Users = Allow - read & execute and Read
for Trusted installer = Allow - Full control, modify, Read & execute, Read, Write
