Guys is there any way I can share large amount of files over the network?

I tried sharing the folder over the network but that gives a max speed of 2 MB/s. Is there anything I can do to get faster speeds?

How are the computers connected to the network? Wired or wireless?

If wired, use good quality Cat5 or better cable. Ensure computers/routers have gigabit speed ports. How long is the cable run?

If wireless, what wifi standard are the adapters and router using, 802.11 N? How far are the computers from the router?

Are you sharing these files or just trying to copy them? If just copying, try a program like teracopy to see if it will provide better performance.

Other Info
Built my first computer (8Mhz 8088cpu, 640K RAM, 20MB HDD, 2 360K floppy drives) in 1985 and have been building them for myself, relatives and friends ever since.
What I use because of my frequent need is a WDC NAS/Network Attached Storage plugged into my Router via Ethernet cable. I can store, read and write files using Win7, Win8.1, Win10TP, Mac OS X and Linux computers, both Wired and Wireless/Wi-Fi. One nice thing is that no single computer has to be running to do it as would be necessary using an attached USB drive.
