Share sound over a Network

Hey guys, its me again this time with a very interesting request. I suppose it isn't specifically Windows 7 related (because it is on xp), but pretty much the same thing.

Just to lay things out here, I'm going to refer to "Computer a" and "computer b" because this can get confusing quickly. "Computer a" is in one room and attached to an epic sound system and the network. "computer b" is in another room, but has a secondary dualview monitor that is in the same room as "computer a" (the primary monitor sits next to the computer). The objective here is to watch a movie on the secondary monitor from "computer b" with the sound coming out of "computer a"'s speakers by some means. I thought of remote desktop, but you block out the screen of the other computer, so I was wondering if there is a simple app or workaround to this (without using "remote assistance").

Thanks guys. I know its tough, but the community is up to the challenge .

If its too confusing, I could probably draw a picture of what it looks like, if it would make more sense.

Well... what you need is to install a SOUND SERVER on both machines, which is to say you need a server that will deliver your audio stream to the LAN. I have set up my network in exactly the way you describe with PULSEAUDIO using LINUX MINT as guest systems in Virtualbox with Windows 7 and XP hosts.
