I'd like to be able to change the location of the Desktop folder quickly. I like to set the Desktop to the folder of the project I'm currently working on.

How can I make a shortcut to the Desktop folder's Properties (Specifically the Location tab)?

THANKS!

Do you mean folder options in control panel? If so, right click on it. There should be an option to create a shortcut. Doing so will create a shortcut on the desktop.

If I'm not understanding you, could you please clarify what you mean?

I mean the specific folder properties for your desktop folder.

To clarify, go to your User folder, right click on the folder called "Desktop" & click "Properties." Then select the tab called "Location."

This is what I'd like to make a shortcut to...It lets you change the location of your desktop folder.

Of course before you could simply use TweakUI to do this, but there is no analog for 7. So, let me just google it for you.

This discussion maybe useful for you, although it's old and the precise registry key might be wrong. Another set of instructions is located here.

Thankyou for your help but that's not what I'm looking for.

Something similar is found at this post on making a shortcut to Folder Options. Option 2 gives a similar answer to what I want. For example, creating a shortcut to "C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Options_RunDLL 7" will open the folder options dialog at the View Tab.

I just would like to make a shortcut to the dialog I described above:
go to your User folder, right click on the folder called "Desktop" & click "Properties." Then select the tab called "Location."
