Hi, I just bought an Internal 3 TB HDD to use as Storage ONLY!!! I will not be using it as my OS. My question is, Should I compress my Data on this drive, or just put it on there normally? I can do this when I format the Drive or just right click on the drive and enable compression which isn't an issue. Just curious if I should Compress or Not?

I personally dont compress anything on my 1TB data drive (unless its a really larage file). On a 3TB drive I would have thought compression would not be needed. If i remember right, compression increases the chance of file corruption.

Ok...that's what I thought too...I was looking for confirmation and see what others do as well...I won't be doing the compression..it's not needed...

The only time i've ever used auto compression was for a company who had a call recording system, which would fill a TB drive in less then a week. It caused all sorts of problems.
