I've decided to upgrade my laptop from vista 32bit home to windows 7 (not sure on which version). I ran windows 7 advisor, and it told me my computer meets the requirements for both.

Processor: Amd Turion 64x X2 Mobility Technology TL-60, 2,00 GHz
Ram: 2,00 gig
Enough disk space

Although it did tell me I would have to do a special install for the 64 version.
So what do you guys think? I don't want to do any upgrades besides the OS. I also don't really understand the benefits over 64-32 making it harder to decide.

Also, should I go with the Home or Ultimate version? I have Vista home now, and It does everything I want.

Advice is appriciated
/Thanks

32 bit. You do not need 64 bit, because you only have 2 gigs of RAM, and because 64 uses more resources.

Use Home Premium, it should meet your needs unless you really need things like bit locker and backup and restore and all the languages

Very few people have any need for Ultimate.

Here is what Ultimate has that is not available in Professional:

BitLocker, BitLocker To Go, AppLocker, Direct Access, Branche Cache, MUI language packs, boot from VHD.

Here is what Professional has that is not available in Home Premium:

Domain join, Remote Desktop host, location aware printing, EFS, Mobility Center, Presentation Mode, Offline Folders, Group Policy (GP) controls, advanced backup, XP Mode.

If you know what those are and need 'em, go for it.
