Should I graduate to Office 2016 from 2010?

Ive been using/loving Office 2010 (and specifically Outlook 2010) since its release.

Just got some new desktops for the office and they all come with 2016.

Should I just make the transition now? The only thing that concerned me with prior versions was the lack of color and monotony but it appears they have added some color to 2016...

That really is a decision you will have to make. Having all computers using Office 2016 would give the best commonality & probably reduce some wrong decisions when operators are using different computers. You also need to keep in mind the extra cost factor of upgrading.

What extra features does the software offer? My impression is that Office has been such a good product for at least a decade that MS is having difficulty improving it sufficiently to make an upgrade compelling.

If a slightly more colorful ribbon is worth it to you, then go ahead.

Hi:

I'm running Office 2010 on my Win7 boxes and Office 2016 on my new Win10 box (Pro Plus on all rigs).

I find the more (not less) monochromatic ribbon, Quick Access Toolbar and overall GUI in 2016 to be a pain and a source of eye-strain. It's hard to discern one Quick Access toolbar icon from the next, even on a large UHD display.

There are some subtle performance enhancements (as well as some likely security enhancements under the hood).
And there are some new annoyances and inconveniences.
Overall, though, the workflow is about the same.

I think the decision lies ultimately with how your end users work with Office, and whether standardizing the version across all endpoints is important to you.

HTH,
MM
