Should I/we trust VPN services?

Sorry guys, I'm kind of new to VPN and want to know more about it while asking some questions.

I know VPN has tons of benefits when it comes to connecting to internet, but since we're connecting a VPN thru a server, how do i know that server is not keeping track of my stuff? And also, how is my connection encrypted?

Well, You need to know that you can really trust the VPN company! Next investigate if they support different types of encryption.

But as with all software you can never get a 100% guarantee. This was reported recently:

Should you trust your Bank or Supermarket.

Same with any business --some will be good, some will be bad and some might be downright crooks. You'll have to do your own research -- the better ones especially if they have a lot of customers should be OK though.
