Excuse my ignorance, but I've never really had any experience with water cooling setups... Does that mean the liquid gets cooled just before the CPU and then again just before the GPUs?

Actually, the water absorbs the heat from the CPU and then looses it in the radiator, then goes back to the pump then CPU.

Yeah, I do understand the way water cooling systems work with heat transfer, but with that specific setup (two radiators or 'coolers'), that essentially means the heat from the CPU is absorbed by one radiator before the liquid reaches the GPUs, and heat from the GPUs is absorbed by the other radiator before the liquid reaches the CPU. Or am I mistaken there...?

I've never used a water cooling setup myself, but I've read a lot about them online. Just never really thought of using more than one radiator in the same loop... I have seen setups with two completely independent loops though.

Radiators are full of small chambers which dramatically increase the amount of surface area then water can be cooled.

Air flows thru the fins which hold water the flowing air picks up the heat from the fins and blows it away causing the fluid leaving the radiator to e much cooler then it was when it entered.

Now water boils at 212F about 93c and freezes at 32F and 0c now I'm not 100% on computer coolant but car coolant has an alcohol based product (there's 3 types) which increases the boil point and decreases the freezing point. Cars run at about 200F just about the boiling point of water that’s why they need antifreeze and since many places like where I live gets below 32 very often you need antifreeze to be able to start the car or else many major parts would freeze and lock up.

Now I'm surprised we don't have any sort of Freon cooling going on I'm going to research that.

Still surprises me how big the coolant tubes in a PC are.

You are very right.

The only problem I see would be extra strain on the pump but that shouldn’t be that big of a deal.

If I ever get to building a water cooled system I'm pulling all the stops and will use some sort of thermostat haven't really looked into water cooling yet.

If I ever get to building a water cooled system I'm pulling all the stops and will use some sort of thermostat haven't really looked into water cooling yet.

I'd guess that with a decent pump that shouldn't cause any problems though... My next build will be water cooled, but that's an adventure for later on when RAF pay out for the bike accident I had a few years back. :) When that happens I'm planning to drop about R30k to R35k (about $4500 to $5000 USD at the current exchange rate) on a completely new system... So when I get closer to the time I'll start doing more in-depth research first.

I really like the thermostat idea though, that would definitely be a nice way to see if the cooling setup is good enough for the hardware it's cooling....
