That v-8 dwarfs the stock cooler, bet you noticed a temp drop.

Indeed it does! the sheer size of the thing actually scared me when I opened the box . and I did notice a drop in temps, I used one of my CAD programs to stress the CPU to the max, did this with both coolers and saw a good 10-15 degree drop in temps across the cores thanks to that monster.

Hey guys, I've been doing some upgrading to my rig over the past few days and months, I've added a CM Storm Sentinel Mouse, a Razer Lycosa Mirror keyboard and a Carcharias Headset, some extra case fans (replaced a 120 and added a 140), and finally, replaced the stock Intel HSF with a shiny new Coolermaster V8 some pics, for viewing pleasure:

Holy crap that is big.

I bet it's performance justifies it's size though.. Lol.

I've been hoping to get myself one of those for ages now, it's more important to fix my car though, so PC gadgets and toys will have to wait a while..

Cheers mate. Despite the 7milimeters of clearance between my side fan and the cooler, I'm extremely happy with it . And I'm sorry to hear about your car. It's always painful to have your wheels stop functioning. May I ask what what went wrong with it?

Hope you held up well in the recent rains? The system upgrade looks great, there's nothing like running your system cool and quiet.

We fared pretty well in that horrible mess. I live about 25 kilometers north of Gympie, or 2 hours north of Brisbane. The creek down the back paddock rose about 1 meter (slightly more than 3feet...) and took the one fence we were still needing to replace. We're used to it though, happens just about every time we get a decent storm...

Nice HillBilly - you could hold back the Cyclone with that thing.....................

Or the extra air currents that V8 produces could make it worse

Fantastic rig. The classified mobo is wicked and I'm sure it's loving the 12gb's and larger cooler. Great pictures as well it looks wicked with the ram cooler and cold cathode tube.

Very nice job with the build. Cable management is very good for PSU not being modular. The system should be a real screamer with your fast ram and CPU. Enjoy and give us some benchmarks once you get everything settling in.
