Here's my rather archaic rig.



Currently got the Q6600 clocked at 2.7, but I know she's capable of 3.87 stable. Although that was a totally different (and more capable) board.

That's a mad little older rig. You keep it very clean and tiddy. If you swap out the raptor for a SSD drive I'll bet it would breath a new life into it. Oh and just a nit pick......dust your logitech speakers please......lol. Cheers !

Thanks! I love having my systems nice and neat; makes for better airflow and I won't have to wade through a forest of wires. I'm slowly updating my rig right now: started off with a mouse, then Windows 7, next I'm planning on picking up two 6950's and flashing 'em...and then I'll work on a B3 Sandy Bridge setup.

Uh... Rick, I think you're supposed to put the PC parts inside the case... Not on top.

Just playing, don't worry.. That's actually some damn nice hardware, I probably wouldn't want to hide it inside a case either.. I like the "Made in Italy" text on the side too. Heck, everything about it is a unashamed and really awesome custom build!

When my car needed tires, I bought a CoolerMaster 650w PSU... When my car needed a service, I bought a pack of over 300 "Magic: the Gathering" cards... When it needed new drop-links (I really hate dirt roads), I bought a second 500GB Seagate Barracuda... Now it needs new shocks, and I bought an EVGA GTX 275 SC...

Oh, and I bought more MtG cards yesterday (what...? I needed more Eldrazi cards.. and basic land cards..)

Edit: Now that our petrol is over R10 per liter, next time I need to put in petrol, I think I'll buy a whole new PC instead.... Lol.

Hahaha, sell the car,get a scooter and use the leftover money to buy the pc,then the fuel issue and wheel,shocks and so on are all solved.

Then go with your scooter to a magic the gathering play for money,clean them out and take that won money and buy more cards,then when you have your ultimate deck of cards you enter the million dollar magic tournament held in an underground hideout by a bunch of "neverseenthelightnerds" then clean them out,you then use that money,buy a brand new car,drive it until it starts falling apart then never repair it and use all the extra cash to upgrade your pc,then when it can't run no more,you sell the peace of crap car,buy a scooter and use that scooter to go to a local magic card game,play for cash and use that cash to...

here's my current rig
yes, okay, it's not really a rig, just a really bad laptop setup. as my rig died, this ancient old heap of junk has to tide me by until I am able to build my 'dream rig'.
and yes, before you ask, the size difference between the monitors is annoying for web browsing and videos and VLC. It isn't too noticeable when on the desktop, which looks pretty cool. Resolution is 2048x768. Maximum is 2560x800, but that cut the taskbar off on the sharp monitor
I managed to get everything across both monitors as an extension rather than expansion by using the nvidia tools for the laptop's graphics chip. Unfortunately, it argues with the Windows settings, so I can't fully tweak it the way I would like to.
The monitor is sitting on a gamecube so that it's the right height
The thing behind the monitor is my centre speaker for the surround sound (it's held on with an elastic band).
(oh yeah, and the red strip on the left of the laptop is another elastic band, holding the power cable in (the connection is dodgy))
(and I am right handed, it's just I use a mouse more than a keyboard, so when I do type, I stand up at the laptop. hey, it's exercise )

I did have a Set up similar to that apart from My Taskbar was to the Right and the 2 Moniters wern't Joined to make one Long one but Just Extended

Not a bad set up over all Mate

Finally got all the waterblocks for the GPU, nearly 3.4KGs!!

I used to have it set up similar to yours, but after this fresh install and a re-instalation of the video drivers, I re-discovered the awesome feature that I left back in 2005
It is awkward to use it this way though Before I bought the pictured slightly better laptop, the non-widescreen ZV5000 would probably be better to do this job and be more aligned, but that only has a 1.7GHz AMD and just 32MB of VRAM :/
I look forward to building my dream rig and hopefully getting three identical monitors so I don't get this problem again.

i long to have a setup like that soon. Do you watch any videos on it? if so, what configuration for viewing do you find easiest? (fullscreen on centre, fullscreen spread across all three, fullscreen mirrored on all three )

Usually full screen in the center, or just stream it to the HTPC in the living room, and watch on the plasma

ah, i guess that must be the best way, as I do find the gaps between monitors annoying (and in my case, the completely different picture height )
i wish streaming worked for us Orb would be great, but the interent connection here is really slow. Over the lan was strangely also slow, and the closest I currently have to a HTPC is a half set up XBMC

Yea, I just stream over LAN from the file server. My htpc is just an old pc running xbmc, with a media portal backend for recording tv.
