ah, i guess that must be the best way, as I do find the gaps between monitors annoying (and in my case, the completely different picture height )
i wish streaming worked for us Orb would be great, but the interent connection here is really slow. Over the lan was strangely also slow, and the closest I currently have to a HTPC is a half set up XBMC

Yea, I just stream over LAN from the file server. My htpc is just an old pc running xbmc, with a media portal backend for recording tv.

I think first on the agenda is a screen that can have as many of my retro consoles connected at once, then next up is a scarily good home made PC, then a pretty decent HTPC (along with a completely new home network ) and finally a really high spec MacBook Pro (with W7 under bootcamp, naturally ). That should make me happy with my PCs for the next, say, 5 years, for about the cost of a good car

and yes, before you ask, the size difference between the monitors is annoying for web browsing and videos and VLC. It isn't too noticeable when on the desktop, which looks pretty cool. Resolution is 2048x768. Maximum is 2560x800, but that cut the taskbar off on the sharp monitor

I see from your system specs that your laptop has an Nvidia graphics chipset... Why don't you set the drivers to use dualview instead of just extending your desktop? Then you can set each monitor resolution independently and you shouldn't have the taskbar issue.

Finally got all the waterblocks for the GPU, nearly 3.4KGs!!

Damn..... That's some serious cooling equipment you got there!

How much were the three cards with their standard heatsinks though...?

yeah, I use IRC and Twitter a lot, but they are normally in shorter 'bursts'/messages, so doesn't seem apparent then. However, it does on here

Well, I must admit I haven't tried Windows 7 with multiple monitors, but with Windows XP on my work PC, I use DisplayFusion to add a taskbar to my second monitor. It also has a bunch of other features that make life way easier with multi-monitor setups...

That V6 looks stunning in your case....great choice. Nice mix of components and with 8 gigs of ram and OC'd to 3 Ghz I'm sure it does just fine with it's GTX 460. Watch for falling prices on a 128 gb SSD and life will get even better !

I've got a V6 too... They're awesome hey? Mine is in my car though.

I don't think it'll fit in my PC case....

I just finished upgrading the wife's PC to 7 after years of her hatred for vista It's all shiny and new now. Antec Three Hundred Illusion case, with purple LED fans (goes nicely with her purple hair ^_^)

What I don't get is that she has a higher WEI score on her RAM, which cost half as much as mine.

I have an Antec 300 Illusion as well, although my fans are blue (trying to cheer them up ). WEI strikes again. I do believe the devil had a hand in it :devil2:

What RAM did you put in her system?

Could be due to several factors, newer/smaller chip size, better controller, motherboard, etc.

You could swap the RAM, she might not notice
