What's this about finding hardware in the dumpster?

Where do you people live, and how can I get in on this?

Apartment complexes I had a second job cleaning carpets and found a computer in the dumpster. It was nothing special pentium 3 home computer but it worked perfect just tossed out.

Just placed a new Corsair H100 on order not sure if I can run push pull on this or if it's even needed, will advise and take lots of pictures but the order fills from Corsair directly and it's showing weeks back ordered.

Waiting for the shipping label so I can return the case and get a replacement, so I can finally start my WC setup. At this point I'll probably end up waiting to make the jump to 2011 or 1155.

Project: cable management - part 1

Its about time I got around getting some decent cable management...
So a while back, I was toying with the idea of putting the power connection on the back.

Good thing I had a test motherboard to try with.
Knives slipped, and irons dropped. Ended up destroying the board...

So this is my 2nd attempt.


Again. Butchered the connection.
Ended up having to grind it down with a dremel.

In hindsight, should of just gone straight to plan C.


The garage has flammable stuff inside, so I'm yet to test it out.
If all goes good, I'l do it on my main PC too.

Edit:
Oh. That 3.3v line is supposed to cross over like that. As it turns out, that is an ATX connector, not the MATX that I needed, so its missing 4 pins.
The PSU is ATX anyway. I'l get the right plugs next time around.

From the pictures it looks like it comes with the two fans with the availability to put two more on the other side and run push pull.

Here is mine, not the best looker, but i had to rebuild with a limited budget. I must admit it does me proud, i can use it for everything i need, apart from decent gaming at the moment until i get my new GPU.

Sorry for the cam quality.

I had to install a 120mm fan on the outside of the left panel as my coolermaster cooler does not leave me room to install it inside beside the cpu.

I am going to figure away how to install cathodes outside of my case. Along with some more nice lights.

Does Anyone Have a Good Way of Lighting Up the Cases? I have a CM Elite 330 With 2 Led Blue Fans At the Moment But i want it to Really 'Glow'

You can buy usb lights which can be easily tidied away and Neon Cathodes which you can install on the case with a lil bit of modding. Neon Cathodes look great m8.

When i have more cash, i shall be lighting my case like a light display.

Hmm I might Get some Cathodes/diodes, But i Really dont want to end up Soldering my way to a Solution But if i have to I might Just Look at A Better Case :d

If you really want a glow, yes cold cathodes (not neon gas, for future references) are a good way to go, and available in a wide range of sizes and colors, as well as some that pulse to music, etc etc etc.

Most cold cathodes come with sticky tape for mounting, plug into a molex connector, and have an expansion port slot cover with a switch on it.
