I just Grabed the BE 8120 fx

and a Antec watercooling system due to corsair product being open

ever darn one of them were open and on sale with a bad botched re sale job lol
this is the one i got instead of the hydro 50 or 60

I will be installing this probally on my day off Sunday or Saturday night and looking forward to Overclocking

Nice choices and take some pic's along the build and when finished. This should work out to be a very capable OC set up and if I had it over to do I would mount the radiator in a push/pull with filtered cool air coming into the radiator from the top and then exhausting out the back of the case. I set my H100 in push pull drawing case air and exhausting but I think the other way is better.

Oh yeah when I get time plenty of shots and you will also see my crossfire set up

Now as far as Overclocking goes was reading that useing the FSB would be better for the OC then useing the Multiplyer

There are many ways to do this but im going to look into the most stable way
Since water cooling is relevant in my machine now i would like to reach somewhere around the 4.6 to 5 ghz range ,I won't know till i throw them in though

You might see a few personal messages from me floating around in a few days with my concerns
Hopefully won't be overwhelming

Also I will probally be moving this thread to Overclocking and case mods

Let the thermal paste cure and take time to familiarize your self with it's baseline stock performance fully then start slowly overclocking later. Even if we're talking like weeks !

My computer started out as a Dell XPS 8100 and slowly I changed it into my own computer. Only the processor and CPU are factory. Everything else has been upgraded.

The current specs are:
Windows 7/Windows 8 Consumer Preview
Intel i7 2.8 GHz (First generation)
16 GB Dual Channel 660MHz
Radeon HD 6950 2 GB (Sapphire)
1 TB Boot drive
2 TB 2nd Drive
Dell Motherboard
700W OCZ PSU

I added a USB 3.0 Hub, I have a USB 3.0 PCIe card in the back and a wire running from it to a hub in the front.

The case is a CM Storm Enforcer with two fans added to the top.

Logitech Z623 Speakers
Logitech M705 Mouse
Logitech G110 Keyboard
HP 2511x 25" LED Monitor (Middle)
HP 2211x 21.5" LED Monitor (Sides)

Nice rig! Very interesting you run it all off a Dell MB. Might I ask why? With it's crippled BIOS, it is usually not a choice. I did not even know you could make all the changes you have with it. A Guy

as above tho. u have spent money on upgrades but stuck with ur dell board?

Well, I have never changed a motherboard so I guess I am a little hesitant to try in case I will screw something up... but it's probably not that hard, probably just looks harder than it really is. Everything else was a matter of unplugging something and plugging something new in. I already have a motherboard picked out, do I just pop out the CPU and pop it in the new one? And last noob question, is this motherboard compatible with the first gen of i7 as well as Sandy Bridge? I will probably upgrade to Sandy Bridge later this year.

Hi ZenixNet,

No the motherboard you listed is not compatible with your CPU. You will need a 1156 Socket type motherboard for your CPU.

Hey guys, so many of you might know I started building a new 1155 socket gaming pc. I sold my 1366 socket pc and started working on this one last week. It being complete, I finally have some photos for you guys. Sorry about some of the fuzzy photos. Kind of recovering from a big night out.

I noticed my gtx560 sli got hot so i bought fans for side intake and rear exhaust. (replaced the side window for the mesh window)

Oh, take note I removed both front hdd bays aswell as installation of fans. moved the drive bay close to the PSU and my temps on Idle with a 4.4ghz overclock are hovering around the 35-40C

Temps and voltages of the new chip and water cooler

Hi guys i took pics of my rig but here is a just to show you tidbit of whats going on since install half hour ago

well i been trying for a bit of a hour to upload some pics it keeps failing I got the chip running at 4.2 ghz as we speak Bsod at 4.3 even with slight voltage increase
