Congrats on the badge. While not being an expert, I've heard the order makes little difference. I've run mine both ways. As long as the res is above the pump, order does not matter a lot. Most people say pump to block to rad back to res. many think that the coolest the water will ever be is when coming from the rad, so run to the rad and from there to the block. I have run mine both ways and see little difference. Keep the res pretty full especially while leak testing. As the air gets out of the system the water level will drop a little. I leak tested mine for 24 hours, but I personally believe Michael was right. If you have no leaks after a couple of hours, it probably won't happen. Having said that, I always leak test for at least 24 hours. My last one I tested it for 36 hours (I wear both a belt and suspenders).

Actually, I believe that after running it for 30 minutes or less, the water temp is the same through out the entire system. While testing, tilt the computer backward and forward and side to side every once in a while to try to get all the air out. I do that and turn it off occasionally for 5 minutes and back on. It helps get the air out better. Air in the system will hurt the cooling. It may take several weeks to get all of it out, but the majority should come out within the first hour or two. Hope this helps.

How does the air get off the system if the res cap is locked tight? Or should I do the tilting thing with the cap off?

There is an air space on top of the reservoir right? The space on top would just be larger if any air in the system worked it's way there ;)

Bill is most likely right. He usually is, but I leave the cap to the reservoir off during leak testing. No scientific reason, I just do.

EDIT: I'm sure you know this, but never ever let the pump run without water (Cavitate, just so you know I know some big words.:D) for even 5 seconds. You'll be buying a new pump. Know where the intake line is and keep the water above it.
