Well, this thing won't boot with anything over 4.0 no matter how I set the voltages, offset, manual, adaptive, etc. It looks like yet another RMA. Sometimes just going to another setting by scrolling in BIOS, the monitor blacks out and only a restart gets the display back.
I had not tried anything over 4.2 until yesterday, booted once at 4.4, run IBT it overheated and shut down. How it's sh**

The H50 is only slightly cooler than the 212EVO, 2C-3C is all with the same settings. I hope the Water2.0 Pro by Thermaltake will do better.

The H50 was the first H series cooler i bought n run for about a year. Chuck another fan on for push/pull and you may get a slight reduction again.

Sounds bad mate

Have you tried it with some different Ram Gary? Maybe you Ram went bad and is affecting everything else?

You may be right Paul. Here is the 2133 Sniper with the CPU, the 4670K, at 4200.

Were all the timings and voltage etc back at default settings on the 2400MHz stuff? If you are sure they were then maybe something has gone bad on them.

Either that or a weak memory controller.

True, for awhile. I changed from adaptive to offset, left the offset voltage on AUTO and got 'er to boot up to 4400 now. After I got it booting once again is when the winsat score dropped way off, it had been 31,200 or so on the same RAM settings.

Now here is the same RAM as the previous snip overclocked to 2400, 10-12-12-30.
You said your RAM score dropped when you overclocked it too?

I'm suspecting a poor IMC (internal memory controller) too Steve.



Forgot to add the 2400 RAM passed memtest 8 passes, if it means anything now.

Yes, personally I don't think mine can cope with more than 2400MHz but it does run great at that speed.

Yes and yes, a few times.
I flashed the BIOS, there are 2 newer versions than what came with it. I cleared CMOS prior to updating te BIOS, as ASUS recommended.

I ran memtest86+ 5.0 and the RAM got really hot to the touch. Has anyone experienced that?

The second fan made no difference in temps, dammit! Same thing when I added a second fan to the Hyper 212EVO.

What I'm on most of the time it seems lately. Unless I'm gameing.
Just so much easier than lugging that big box outside.

Unlucky chap! It was worth a try though enit

My temps are all proper good since i changed my case
I was getting a hot spot by my optical bays in my last case and because i was using one of the Cougar Vortex fans as exhaust my northbridge temp would hit 71c when gaming.
They really don't do a lot if used as a case fan but are totally different on a rad.

Max temp playing BF3 in old case with just pull on the H100i.
Cpu 49-50c
Nb 60-71c
Gpu's 70-75c

New case with push pull on the H100i the highest temps i've seen.
Cpu 40c
Nb 53c
Gpu's 65-70c with lower fan speeds and no hot spots

The weather hasn't been quite as hot though
