I was not happy with the amount of space the rad with 2 fans took up at the rear of the case, so I moved it to a new position at the front of the case. It took few little modifications but it is there now and fixed solidly, it makes the inside of the case look a lot clearer.

See before and after pic.

Paul.

Great job and now you can look at the armor and enjoy it's clean functions.

I just thought it may run a few degree's cooler as it's no longer getting warmer air from the gpu. Or do you have it as an intake?

I do believe it will lower temps just slightly but the case air flow and heat convection should improve as well. Even the ram will get better air flow.

Lol thanks Gary:)

Ryan, Its pulling in air from outside the front of the case and I chucked an exhaust fan on the back, temps are looking good so far, it's hard to say as it was a lovely warm day here, but to give you an idea the cpu temps were the same today as what they were on a cold day when I tested it before.

I had it set up before so it was pushing the air out the back, so it would have been using the warm air from inside the case, now its drawing air from outside the case at the front and pushing it inside and then the exhaust fan is hopefully sending it back out.

Thanks mate, yeah easiest motherboard to clean in the world!

It came with 2 very small fans, 1 to circulate air under the cover and another that you can point at the vrms, the latter is a total gimmick, the former might be worthwhile so I will fit it later tonight.

Edit: Installed the mini fan. Not sure how accurate this thermal radar thing is, but going by that temps look pretty good all round.

I have used and still have one of those and their great, only issue is the neck of the fan won't hold it in place. Try this: take a cut down wire coat hanger and black zip tie it to the neck pre-bent where you want the fan to stay and that should help. I had mine zip-tied to the HDD cage to keep it in place.

yeah i did wonder how well it would support it as the mount does'nt look too good. I bought the slightly bigger 100mm one too.
Thanks for the suggestion i shall deffinately keep it in mind. Infact i have a Scythe "NINJA WIRE" that i used to use with my 6950 that may come in usefull for it.
Cheers chap

Paul, I don't know whether the 35mm fans do anything or not, but I installed them and they run about 3700 rpm constantly. Motherboard temps are always really good, and I can't hear them at all. Also, good thinking on the Rad relocation......you have the optimal setup now. Drawing cold outside air in across the fins will give you the most efficient cooling. I don't know if your temps will lower any, but I know after the rad absorbs the shock of higher temps, it will cool it down faster. That is how I have mine set up.....it draws air from outside and forces it across the fins and exhausts out the top....good stuff! Board looks amazing as well.

Thanks Kelly, It's definitely running cooler with the rad in the new position. I re-ran IBT under the same ambient temperature (if not slightly warmer)that I did a while back and it is running 7C cooler.
