So here are some preliminary shots of what it looks like right now.
It is a work in progress, so bear with me.

This rig will be presented at a trade show in August, so any advice and tips are more than welcome!

The case will be done in some kind of a Star Wars theme, something to do with an Imperial Stormtrooper, Vader's Tie Fighter or an X Wing Fighter. Not sure yet. I'm working on it right now. Will upload some sketches later this week so you can all give me your opinion and help me decide.

Steve, once again, thank you very much for everything!

Next "special" will be something for Paul. Will start work on it by the second week of August. Any requests Paul?

Hmm Looks almost too neat and tidy Juan don't know how you manage it but really really nice and my Haswell I am going to aim at getting mine like this.

Those appear to be very important Teflon glides for the troopers rifle. They reduce the automatic slide friction and help keep the rifle cool during extended shooting sessions.

Yep thanks mate I am full of technical information but I cannot tell the gender of boards I am not that good!! :roflmao:

Yep Steve and Kelly well my boards are temperamental and complex to the max but always turn me on

Funny. I've always named my vehicles (my current one is Saoirse) but I've never named my computers (except the *&^%$#@! Acer desktop and netbooks I had but I can't repeat those names here).

Well, the CPU is in its socket. IT was only a 3 month test, I think. After the trouble I had prior with Gigglebyte and ASSrock boards, I wasn't going to take any chances.

Here are some preliminary sketches for the case.
I'm pretty sure we'll go with the Stormtrooper theme.

Let me know what you think. It still needs a lot of work, but it is a good approximation of what it looks like in my head.

Obviously, the art was done by people who know what they are doing (deviantART mostly). Once we settle for a final design I'll ask for permission for using it and give credit where credit is due.

Meanwhile, here it is. What do you think?

Nice find & cut but find quite heavy for the back panel design

Thanks for your input NoN.

Believe me when I tell you that it involves a lot more work than finding and cutting.

Regarding the back panel, I agree, but it is kind of the idea. It is for a trade show, so one side, at least, has to be distinguishable from afar. Since we are sticking to b&w with this one, we are going for the "heavy" backside, while keeping it light for the front and window panel which is what people will look at when the are actually in the booth.

Nevertheless will do some more "find & cut" to make it lighter and see what we can come up with.

Yeah, with the bad luck you have had I don't blame you.

Hello guys.

Here's how it looks like right now.

Since I do not really like having the case full of tubes everywhere, I decided to experiment with tube routing and went kindda crazy. What do you think?
I could have done it with a shorter run of tubing, but with tighter bends, and since the pump has more than enough flow and head, I thought the additional length couldn't hurt. Besides it would have hindered what we need to do cable management wise.

Video cards should be here tomorrow, so maybe we'll be able to install the blocks before the end of the day and start testing the integrity of the loop.

Still looking for different alternatives for the case theme, but haven't found anything I really like so far,
although I have a very nice piece of news: Gigabyte is going to sponsor this rig, so maybe we'll go crazy and do something to match the board's color scheme!!! We'll see...

This is kindda turning into a build log, so let me know if I'm being annoying.
I'd really appreciate your input and advice.

Juan, that looks nice. I guess you've hit the big time with Gigabyte sponsoring you. Well done, you deserve it. You may have to go a little green with your theme to match the Gigabyte colors. Plus, a little color on the white case would make it stand out. Maybe a little Yoda. You're doing great.
