My new rig...

Here’s my new rig. Upgraded from a first gen i7 system (i7-950) to a new Haswell rig….







System specs (old system specs hasn't been updated yet)

- Cooler Master HAF X Case
- Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5 motherboard
- Core i7-4770K (Stock speed of 3.5 GHz)
- 32gig Corsair Dominator Platinum (9-10-9-27 @1866Mhz, 1.5 volts)
- Corsair H100i Closed Loop Cooler with Corsair’s Air Series SP 120 Quiet fans
- AMD R-280X GPU (Sapphire Vapor X; 3gig)
- OCZ Vertex 4 SSD Drive
- Lite-On optical drive
- SoundBlaster ZXR Soundcard
- Windows 8.1

I got lucky and found them at NCIX for $379 + 11 bucks shipping - Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD32GX3M4A1866C9 32GB 4X8GB DDR3-1866 CL9 Quad Channel Memory Kit

Was a little worried because I never dealt with NCIX before, but the memory arrived un-opened and good

BTW they're a little cheaper at Amazon over Newegg last time I checked (449 vs. 469). Still, NCIX beat them by a mile!

Don't get me wrong, I love the new system, I just liked the clean look of the old one. Now suddenly the HAF X isn't as spacious as it once was

That case must be huge, you still have tons of room above and below the motherboard, and the H100i looks so small.

You put a bigger GPU in there and a water cooler, so it`s gonna look crowded, but I think it looks great

Yeah as you saw from the last build there was space galore in there but now it's being taken up by bigger and better items. Man this thing is rollin'. I just finished a session of Deus Ex: Human Evolution and the game looks amazing and runs great. Though the 6850 ran the game well, the 280X just makes it look that much better, especially with the improved graphics added by the Director's Cut version. Fun game BTW.

Drew, I understand with the water cooling it may seem more congested but it's still a clean open rig and just looks wicked.

Tom, Great crossfired rig and the wiring is looking more tidy with each change, these things take time as each case and it's components has it's own challenges.
