Weird hate for AMD here.

I don't get it...

Andrew, it isn't hate for AMD, it's performance. Just look at some of the Benchmark threads and the leaderboards. I really don't hate AMD. If they came out with a CPU that could beat Intel I would be very happy and probably buy one.

My 8350 does one heck of a job, and costs insanely less than intel. I guess if you want to spend a lot more I understand. Other than benchmarks, I honestly do not see a difference between my buddys newest i7 and mine.

Also once you have a solid state, pretty much no difference anymore.

Someone will spend $600.00 or more on a video card and worry about few dollars more for a Intel cpu.

This post is not directed at anybody but we all have seen it happen.

I do not hate AMD and have no reason to. I use Intel because they have just always worked great for me and have seen no reason to go back to AMD.

Besides AMD having weak CPU'S the GPU'S get bottlenecked even harder because they don't even have motherboards supporting PCI-E 3.0

I still have several rigs running AMD CPU's and all of them run AMD GPU's they all perform fantastic.

I've had only one AMD machine. I'm not a gamer and I still though it was a dog; a slow, nearly dead one. My little i3 notebook has more pony power than that AMD machine did.

Ps. i7 now sits at a 4.6ghz OC. Heat never exceeds 61 on full load. Idles around 24. My fans are system managed, not via nzxt grid.

You won't be disappointed with the SP120s, they're brilliant little fans hey.. Running a mix of SP and AF in my case and they work beautifully.

After nearly 5 years of service I decided to retire my old system in favor of a much faster, quieter and energy efficient X99 system. Hopefully I get a good 5 years out of her too.

Killer rig right there, absolutely gorgeous! I wish both of you a long, happy and fruitful life together... Hehe.. Those Kingstons must be amazing in RAID.

So far they work great. It was cool to see such a noticeable difference. May switch my thermaltakes out for more Corsair someday... Someday. Lol.

Thanks! My disappointment over that rig and so called expert computer repair shops were the reason why I decided that I needed to learn how to build, maintain, and repair my own computers. Seven Forums had a lot to do with my being able to do that.

It seems unless you give them the parts yourself Computer shops tend to BS on your Machine and put all budget crap in there that barley runs and horrible performance on top of that

One guy i used to frequent in early 2000 did this to me and i would point out to him that is now what i asked for so in turn i got fed up and just put the damn things together myself much easier and i know what i want to put into it half these mom and pop shops bank on the fact you have no idea of what you are purchasing which is the reason why they are getting shut down

Bit late to the party here, but with the Intel vs AMD story (which I doubt will never die).. I don't see it as a simple case of one being better than the other, it's more of a "right tool for the job" idea.

If you want a decent gaming machine, go Intel and you won't be disappointed. If you need a good solid workstation, AMD will let you do that more than comfortably. And at a much more reasonable price too..

That said, my previous build (Phenom II x4 975BE, dual 660Ti's, 8GB Patriot G2, etc) still runs all the modern games with great ease. So, within your budget, get the right tool for the job and you'll have a machine to be proud of.

...and just to point out, the Asus Sabertooth 990FX/Gen3 R2.0 includes PCI-E 3.0. I'm pretty sure others will start to follow suit soon. Still, I somehow doubt the majority of computers would saturate the 2.0 rates yet anyway. When they do, 3.0 will be much more common.

The Thermaltake cooler does it's job, but can get a little noisy when the fan speed picks up. My computer sits in the room with all the afternoon sun; inside air temp is about 78F (25.5c) right now and the cpu is at 34c as I type this. I'm sure once I stop being cheap and turn the AC on it will help cut that noise down.

Just so you'll know i know about that board i actually have one but the PCI-E is still broken and not fully utilized nice try though

IDK. Intel and AMD war is just like the anti-virus war.

And intel is never a few pennies more than an AMD product. They are almost always twice the amount.
