So dumb question but how are 3 vid cards powering 5 monitors? Does that mean each video card that has 2 connections can power 2 screens? So I can get technically with my SLI setup 4 screens working?

PS : those hanns monitors are the S*$T! I dont know how they are for gaming purposes though.

z3r010 is not running ''SLI'', the cards all run independently, so 1 monitor per port......;)

I can't believe I haven't posted my rig on here yet! I guess I've just been lazy and haven't gotten around to take pictures yet. I am going to slowly start updating my setup, starting with a new CPU cooler, probably the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme with the snap on fan. I am also looking into getting a new monitor, I love mine, but I want a 24" or bigger wide screen! I was thinking of either a 24" Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP or after seeing z3r010's I am now also thinking a 27.5" Hanns-G HG-281DPB but I notice it has no DVI, so are u using a HDMI to DVI connector? If so how is it? After comparing the 2, the Dell seems to be the better quality monitor, but is also about $490, where the Hanns is quite a bit bigger with a better response time, 3ms to Dell's 6ms, and is about $330 (cheapest i could find on the web), which is about $160 cheaper...hmmm....what do u guys think? :sarc:
I also need a new hardrive, not another Raptor, but one for storage so probably a 1TB drive. Then after all of that maybe a new graphics card or 2!!

Alas, here is my rig!! (My desk is actually tucked into my closet in my room to save space, since we have a ton of other closets here! :D)

Specs:
Case: Lian Li PC-V200 Plus II
CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz (Quad Core)
Motherboard: NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI
GPU: NVIDIA 8800GTX 512mb
Memory: 4x DDR2 1GB Corsair CMX1024-8500C5 (4 gigs total)
Hard Drives: 2 80gig Raptor WD74 0GD-00FLA2 10,000K RPM SATA
Power Supply: E-Power Silent Engine 1000 Watt Tiger

I'm using the HDMI to DVI lead that is supplied with the monitor and it works fine.

Sweet! How have you liked the monitors so far? I've read bunch of reviews on it and have heard many great things about it. The only complaints I saw was their was backlight bleeding around the edges and the monitors dying. Have you ran into any problems with yours so far?

Our Windows 7 Media Center

Let me start by saying I am really liking what I see here. Alot of you have really gone all the way with your rigs. So, I thought I would share our Media Center with you all.

This started as a "test" to see if it would meet the Wife Approval Factor, and exploded from there.

We started with an Hp Slim line pc with Vista Home Premium
upgraded to 2 Gb Ram, Added two 1TB Western Digital external drives, a mild video card upgrade (8400GS), and a processor upgrade ( Athlon x2 64)

RCA Home Theater reciever with Optical and s/pdf inputs as well as HDMI switching.

LG 42in LCD Tv

Hp w2207h 22in monitor

Harmony 1000 Remote

After seeing what Windows 7 had improved on over Vista, we luanched that boat and have been sailing smooth ever since.

This isn't my Rig but it sure looks amazing.

Ooh, Monster-y: 'Frankenstein Steampunk' PC

frank%201.jpg

This is a steampunk computer affectionately known by its creater Dana Mattocks as 'Frankenstein Steampunk'. Personally, I would have named it Frankensteam or Steamenstein, but that's just me, and I'm awesome as hell. Except way cooler. HIYO!
The first thing you notice about this mod is its size--it's 8 feet tall, and weighs over 400 pounds. The project apparently took a year to complete, and it shows. Not opportunity for modification is pass up, with everything from the power button (a discreet brass valve) to the air intake (an old church floor vent) gets a neo-Victorian overhaul.
Good looking, Dana. Say, while you're on the classic literature kick, how about a Dracula model? It could look like a casket or something. Can you tell the creative juices are flowing this morning? They are, my shirt is soaked. Oh, false alarm -- I'm just dribbling milk. This cereal is being tricky.

Hit the jump for some worthwhile closeups of the craftsmanship.
