Next year they will be way cheaper so it's a good time to buy one. Do it. You will love it.

Aren't there significant write performance degradations as the drives fill up still with these SSD drives? In the past, it seemed they screamed out of the box, but over time as blocks got used, a write operation consisted of a read, an update, an erase and then finally a write sequence. I know we had some MAC users in my shop who went banannas for their SSD drivers...but over time their MAC's slowed to a crawl. A few of them got new MAC's and opted to standard hard drives again because of this performance issue.

I figured I would ask the fellas here who are investing heavily in these drives for some input.

I LOVE it. It boots Windows very fast and everything else is fast too. I would get one if you can. I guess price is the only reason everybody does not use these. Patriot has a 10 year warranty for all Torqx drives now so you have nothing to lose.

I paid $379 for mine. Here is where I got it.

Newegg.com - Patriot Torqx PFZ128GS25SSDR 2.5" 128GB SATA II Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - Solid State Disks

The Gskill 1066Mhz RAM is great too!

I'd rather go for the Corsair Performance SSD's or OCZ's Vertex.

Here's my HTPC, looking to upgrade the case so it matches the rest of it but just can't decided yet. The Sky box has now gone upstairs so there is room for a full height HTPC case.

There are issues still but the new generation with the Indilinx (barefoot) controller has addressed the issue. Patriot just came out with a 10 year warranty for these drives...I think they want us to "test" the controller for them over time. I am happy to do it!:D

It really depends on the game and personal preference. The majority of games, particularly FPS - there is no substitue for Kb/mouse.

However games like GTAIV, FO3, Prototype, Overlord II, G.R.I.D, H.A.W.X etc it's just more natural to use a controller.

I'm just happy to have the best of both worlds :D

That's my main genre too and it's 98% kb/mouse there. Although I did play Crysis Warhead with a controller and it felt pretty damn smooth. A lot like playing the HALO series.

Yah i prefer Xbox 360 controoler when im playing NBA 2K9,Assasin's Creed & NFS series:p its more enjoyable than using a keyboard+mouse!;)

but in FPS & RTS ofcourse nothing can beat a keyboard+mouse! like smarteyeball said "i'm just happy to have the best of both worlds":D

The MSRP price for the G19 just does not make it a viable option simply because it is a modified variant of the G19. I have also read numerous complaints directed against the Logitech G19 with many keyboards failing prematurely. That case looks like the Antec 902 if I am not mistaken. That's a really nice motherboard though.
