Show us your SSD performance 2

Ghost that comes with the Samsung SSD may work just fine on the Samsung.

I know it the past it was flaky but that was before SSD's. I don't know if they ever fixed it.
I would hope that they have.
I used the Paragon when I did my Samsung so don't know.

Ghost provided with your Samsung might be worth a try and it is free.

Just a thought.

Yea, I know Alan. I did too for a long time, but found it's the best $20 I ever spent. In fact I used it 3 times last night switching SSDs from one machine to another. It took me an hour. A lot better than 2 clean installs. It's also the best backup you can get.
+1 Essenbe

It will transfer between any HDD to SSD. Also works SSD to SSD and HDD to HDD.
The best $20 I spent also.

My 2 cents. :geek:

Got mine for free in a giveaway. Ver. 2.0 Special Edition.

RAID0 TRIM WORK ON Z68!!

F*** you Intel!!

Asrock Z68 Exreme4 GEN3
BIOS V2.30 modded by Garikfox with Fernando OROM 11.6.0.1702 RAID0 TRIM enabled hack specific to the P67/Z68
2 X Crucial M4 128GB 000F Firmware
RAID0 128K strip array originally created with OROM 10.8.0.1303
Intel RST driver 11.6.0.1030 installed before upgrading to OROM 11.6.0.1702
Win7 64 Ultimate

I flashed, I configured, I conquered. Nothing else to change. 100% confirmed to work with HxD, thanks to Fernando's guide. Ahhhhhhhhh, the pretty zeros all over the place!

NOTE: I don't know If I did something wrong, but after the first reboot, it didn't work. Rebooted a second time, tested again and BOOM! Maybe 2 reboot are necessary. Also, the M4's Marvell controller seem to have a more relaxed triggering time for TRIM. I did the test immediately after deleting the file and emptying the trash can and it didn't work. I then waited a good 45-60 seconds, tested again and BOOM!

Thanks a ∞ times!! to everyone involved. Especially Garifox, Fernando and of course to the one that made all this possible: Dufus.

I finally got my original speed back!:

Regarding the Samsung provided Norton Ghost program, it actually only provides a link to the Norton download and when I down loaded it it asked for a product key and or a free 30 day trial. As no code was provided I hit the 30 day trial and then tried to open the SSD clone portion but it's only available with a full purchased version so it was un-installed immediately.

whs and Hopalong X,
Thanks so much for the info. I'm nervous about the proper next step as I don't want to image myself into another fresh install. But I'm tempted to re-image my current Samsung 830 to my Vertex III, install the Vertex as the C drive and use the Samsung tool to install it back to a completely wiped Samsung drive. As my system is still crazy fast at the moment I'm still gathering all my ducks and then I'll get them in a row, also going to call back to Samsung and get thier input and then likely over the next week take the plunge.....but as I said If I wind up screwing things up or having to do another clean install with all my software......I'll scream bloody murder !

I am not 100% sure what you are trynig to do. If you want to move the OS from the Samsung to the Vertex, then you have to first image the Samsung to a HDD (internal or external) and then restore the image to the Vertex. Imaging directly to the Vertex will not give you a bootable SSD/OS.
