Well I have transitioned to my (somewhat) new laptop, a Acer Extensa 5620Z. The only thing im not happy about is my graphics, it alows me to play most games on med settings w/o worrying about slow fps spikes and is adiquate enough for for VMing, Office 2010ing and video.
score.PNG
One thing i noticed is that Acer claims that the maximum "adressable/usable" RAM is 2 Gb w/ 1 gig per slot(2). so me being the curios person i am said "I dont belive that!" so took out a 2Gig stick from one of my other laptops, and guess what:D its fully adressable past 2 gigs!

Just got a SSD (128GB Kingston V Series) and am amazed at the difference so far... and this is a low-end SSD! I never thought it would be the processor holding me back...

The HDD is holding me back quite a bit, I'm probably going to consider a SSD from Intel soon.

Your WEI scores indicate your storage might need a kick in the a...SSD would bring that up in line with your other scores.

Rumors are that the SSD prices might slip bit further by the end of the year.

The new 25nm G3 Intel SSDs should be released in the next couple of months, if you can wait.

Absolutely, that's exactly what I'm targeting, at this point it's almost a necessity, waiting around for such a bottleneck just feels foolish to me...

Looks good.

What SSD tweaks did you do?

Well basically Optimizing it using diskeeper 2010 pro premier, enabling write cache, running Intel SSD Toolbox and also running SSD Tweaker. Bear in mind that I didn't check the "turn off Windows write-cache buffer flushing on the device" checkbox.
