I knew someone would fill in the rest of the details.
Thanks.

7.5 across the board except the HD.:sarc: Hmmmm!
Anybody have any REALLY good lines to convince the better half an SSD is reallly, really necessary.:D

....but honey ALL the other guys have one!

Mike

If the one you posted didn't work, try flowers and a romantic dinner, then pop the question.

If that doesn't work then try the ole, I know you've wanted X-item for a while and I think you should go ahead and get it.
Wait for the opportune time and spring the question.

I'm lucky, I don't have to use these methods, I wear the pants in my family (the wife said I could);)

I've been into High End Audio for several decades and quite often the term WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) enters the conversation just as it does with High End Computers which many of the fairer sex also have a difficult time understanding our need for...

MAXXWIRE,
We should start a Win 7 post for audiophiles that compute. Nice CJ, I'd love to know the front end to speaker spec's with any pic's. I've been bit by the audio bug since I was 12 and my first system I bought was a Fisher 500C and a pair of Advents via a Dual TT. Still own my upgrade speakers from 1977 AR9's which are now bi-amped with over 450 a side and have come to life again. The Sota Sapphire or Techinic's RS1500 and or my 1600+ lossless music files act as my front end. Cheers and maybe others will let us know if a blog on the subject could be of interest. Music chronicles time so precisely and it's accurate reproduction and imaging still captures my interest today and can transport me to places, friends and times.

The Cheese

Might sound stupid, but how are you guys getting the WEI screen to show more detailed information about the system? Is this something only available with the Ultimate edition of Windows 7? I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and don't see an option.

Everytime I click on "view and print more detailed information" it just opens up a notepad and doesn't do anything.

You clicked the right spot "View and Print" so it should work.

Try clearing the current WEI data and try again. The results of a WEI test are stored as XML files in "C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore"; send the contents of that folder to the recycle bin (better to be safe than sorry, clear it later if you want) and then run your WEI test again.

Not sure if that will fix it, but it's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head..

That's a good question, mine does the same thing.

It is DX11, WEI is just reporting it wrong.

As I understand it, although Windows 7 has full DirectX 11 support, the Aero interface on uses DirectX 10.. Apparently that's why the WEI screen never shows higher than DX10.

I did exactly what you said, only to end up with the same issue. So, I saved this "notepad" to my desktop. I then right-clicked, selected open with, and opened it with Internet Explorer 9 Beta.

I was then able to view it. I'll attach the notepad and the WEI detailed information.

EDIT: Well, I can't upload it because .hta files cannot be attached. Maybe I need to reset my file associations. I checked default programs and .hta files are set to open up with Internet Explorer now. When I click to get detailed information Windows asks me what I want to do with the "Print Preview.hta" file: Open, Save, or Save As.
