Err what's a pagefile? is that some thing like hibernation.....? have not used either in years, they are bad OLD system programs that serve no real purpose in modern computers.

Just my 2 cents worth but I do have a WEI of 7.7 it would be 7.9 except for my SSD! if you search some of the major SSD creators, for their tweeks, you'll see that they don't recommend anything that does frequent writes to their SSDs'

Apparently I run mine like yours. My SSD is also 7.7 - I don't have a pagefile, hyfil is turned off as is system restore. I make daily or more than daily backups using Acronis and I flash my SSD when the performance starts to drop, which has been once with this one. I was very lucky to come across Paragon Alignment tool when it was on a 6 hour 'freebie' and it showed my drive was mis-aligned as I had imaged 'down' from a 64G Kingston drive to a 60G OCZ and the alignment was off: See before and after below:

In response to a chap that asked me for a reference, I spend 3/4 of an hour yesterday trying to find anything on pagefiles on tomshardware, overclockers, canucks, anandtech, you name it, that wasn't two or three years old. There isn't anything that doesn't just parrot the party line.

I bought my first computer (VIC20) in 1979 and I've been learning ever since. I'm not too proud to say I'm still learning!

There are a lot of opinions on the size of page file and if you actually even need it anymore. This of coarse depends on the amount of RAM in your system and the individuals usage and programs.
Graphics manipulation and video editing are a couple uses that will benefit from more RAM and a large page file setting.

This article mentions the fact that you might not need a large page file, but uses the memory dump as the reason you should keep page file turned on.
Is that valid or necessary, it is up to the individual and their preferences.

The best way to size the pagefile is to monitor how much of the pagefile is in use and the system paging activity. If very little of the pagefile is ever used, there is not much point in having a large minimum size.

Check your system, then decide what is best for you.

My hibernate is turned off, SSD page file is 400mb.
These are a couple of tweaks that were done for my SSD.

OCZ has a lot of SSD info, most of it is valid for any SSD.
