Had to rerun the WEI assessment since I just added a new SSD drive. The new drive took me from a 5.9 to 7.6 rating.

Ha Ha My SSD is sitting in front of me at work on My Desk I would love to go straight home and put it in but may not get to for a couple of days But Hey I got one

my corsair ram is rated at 7-7-7-20 but whith my mobo set to auto for the speed it was only running at 1066 or something like that. theres an "xmp" option that i chose and i noticed some things changed on the screen and there was a comment saying target speed was 16000. i reran the WEI and my memory score is now 7.8
and cpuid shows 7-7-7-20 timing instead of 8-8-8-20. is this xmp considered an overclock? the mobo specs dont say that 16000 was overclocked.....i need someone to draw me a picture explaining this stuff! ill take the 7.8 though!

XMP is Extreme Memory Profile

Your Ram is 1600MHz ram, you now have very aggressive timings and the ram is running at it's native speed. I used my BIOS to set my ram to 1600MHz. I'm not sure if using the XMP changes any other BIOS settings. Suggest you run Memtest and make sure their are no errors.

The XMP sets the RAM to it's recommeded settings, should be the timings and voltage that is printed on the package or sticks themselves.

It won't change anything else.

Finally got Windows 7 on the Vertex 2 SSD - Now the WEI shines



Tried the Samsung SSD first but it was slower (WEI only 7.3) - now is been demoted to a Fast storage drive. Guess I'm not getting this WEI any higher without adding a second Video Card. And that would only get it up to 7.8

No Overclocking yet - stock right now ....... But I hear ATI has a utility to let to OC the Video Card a bit hmmmmm........ might be interesting

I wouldn't use ATI Overdrive, doesn't work very well.

MSI Afterburner is a good program for OC'ing, works on any card.

My first run with new SSD no settings yet sorted very promising for my goal of 7.4. now for the tweaks
