Nice scores, and yes, an SSD would make you happy.

I wouldn't buy one until those prices come down. Other than being faster I can't see any point use something that has such a short lifetime & failure rates. I guess I'll have to wait a little more.

Quite a long thread, it is over 100 pages now about testing SSDs. They are trying to see how many writes they can do before the SSD fails. Some of them have written over 500TB. They aren't quite as fragile as many people have thought.

Quite a long thread, it is over 100 pages now about testing SSDs. They are trying to see how many writes they can do before the SSD fails. Some of them have written over 500TB. They aren't quite as fragile as many people have thought.

Fully agree with essenbe.

Average user uses less than 1TB per year, enthusiasts and professionals maybe 2-5TB per year, some maybe more.

At 5TB per year a SSD can last for a 100 years, or more.

So, the rumors of their fragility were, well, exaggerated to say the least.

That is pretty much why I decided against getting an SSD. Honestly, this rig is fast enough anyway, I can't see an SSD would make a whole lot of difference. I doubt I'll notice the difference between taking 1 second to load something and 0.5 seconds

You will be surprised, very pleasantly surprised.

Warning: once you use a SSD you will not be able to go back to an old spinner.

Take the step into the best performance upgrade there is, no matter what system you are running. It's the access time that makes the difference, a big difference.

No one regrets getting a SSD, they just wonder why they waited so long

Ah no. I would like to,but no. They are too expensive for me. Maybe if I buy new pc, much better than this,I'll buy one ssd.

My graphics card is the weak point in my system too. But I'm not worried about it, because I'm not a gamer, so it does everything I do well enough.
