Recently upgraded my older HP computer with a new Intel 320 Sata II 160 GB SSD & AMD 6870 video card.

Those scores don't look like an old computer. Nice job. Good scores.

It's always nice to have your low score change to another device that already had a high score :)

A Guy

Previously the lowest scores were 3.5 for graphics (Nvidia geforce 210) & old HDD spinner at 5.9 so the HIS 6870 which I installed only yesterday was the last component needed to increase the overall score.

I should also note I previously had upgraded my power supply to a 600 watt OCZ modular from the 300 watt stock POC in anticipation of a higher performance video card.

I'm assuming you're talking about mine if not I'm sorry but anyway... I'd love to have an SSD but as a student I have no money to spend on one. Being I'd also like to keep my data in tact for years to come I might try backing up my system and reloading it onto a RAID 5 array to boost speed and redundancy.

Would definitely love to be in the all 7's club but as of right now there's no way I could afford an SSD. I will eventually get enough money to get one, being I have a promising opportunity for a job over the summer. I have to agree it really does deserve a SSD it's a beast of a system.

Ya the main thing is this is all data I've gathered over the course of almost 3 years, which is about 480G worth, which being I have few pics, no videos, and not many large games, is alot of stuff I need to be around. I could see maybe transferring stuff over but that can be a bit messy in my experience. As far as RAID being a mess goes I know. Recently dealt with a guy who's music studio system suffered a total burn out. The RAID array was wiped out, partially due to a low-end disk controller, but that was just his OS. He kept all his data on a roughly 9 year old SCSI HDD. Gotta love how other people set up systems.

Great system Lantz and as long as your computer operates the way it should and you are satisfied with your configuration that is all that matters.

Updated Toshiba L755-S5258 Scores (i5-2410M CPU, 8 GB RAM)

Here's my Toshiba Satellite L755-S5258 laptop's updated scores, with the new intel 8.15.10.2509 driver for the HD 3000 graphics (no more OpenGL issues, runs even faster):

Also, that's an OCZ Vertex 3 SATA3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G SSD, posting that big, fat 7.9

CPU: intel core i5-2410M 2.3/2.7/2.9 GHz, 2 cores, 4 threads (HTT)
RAM: Crucial 8GB PC3-10600 DDR3-1333

Not bad for a $549 laptop (bought new last year at MicroCenter, May 2011).

wicked fast little laptop for the money ($549 USD new, from MicroCenter. 16GB of Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 was $153.99 USD off Amazon.com. Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD was $189.99 @ MicroCenter, Cambridge MA
Here is my Toshiba Qosmio X775. It still blows me away that a laptop can achieve this score. I have read they are making laptops that incorporate SLI, they should be awesome. I have been into powerfull desktop rigs and never gave much thought to laptops as gaming machines but this laptop has changed all that.
