Not the best score, but not too shabby for a 6 year old processor and mobo that's been running almost non stop

I laughed at this though:

Your awesome for reading this.
I don't miss xp at all.

I miss a couple of features in XP—Picture Viewer and the Camera/Scanner Wizard— but, overall, I was in love with Win 7 from the first time I actually used it. I was expecting a steep learning curve when I got my first Win 7 machine before I could use it but I was up and running within a handful of minutes.

I currently use XP in an office computer and if it would not cost 2.5k to upgrade I would do it in a second. XP was a bit buggy and open to changes that were unplanned. 7 is a much better system and before I upgrade I am going to wait for 10 to come out. Windows 8.1 is ok but you have to do quite a few personal mods in order to get it to be a really workable system for a desktop. Vista was a total disaster and I know there will be some that will say its great but to me when I bought a few computers with Vista I changed the os out. Most of it is what are you familiar with because you will find all the work around in order to make it the way you want. 7 Just seems to work and you can do the changes without major hassles. By the way Lady Fitzgerald I like your backup message. I just don't like the subscription based services all are going to and may consider staying with 7.

Wanted to look through here for some high scores, didn't find much any one know of one? 7.5-9 seems too average. My piece of crap tower from 6 years ago with a mediocre AMD card bumped me up to that once I replaced the corrupted the drive. Has to be some 8's or even 9's out there mean wise... I all so notice scores going up based on disc space is this just me seeing patterns? And if it is disc space why? My windows install is less then 8 gigs atm, I think I use 10 gigs in total because I haven't cleaned it yet, and there is another couple gigs I can delete from the windows folder on the 20 gig drive. Space is overrated locally speaking.

Right now I am just using a business laptop so graphics isn't a thing (Gaming 3.4, Regular 4.1), the cpu though is able to manage high data rates (5.7), the memory is a joke cause it hasn't been upgraded but is 5.5 and is like 6.8-7 upgraded though only need an upmost max of three gigs if things are ran properly. The hard disk surprisingly is 6.0 when the data transfer rates are half that then the laptop that's 12 years old while this is like 8 years.

My average memory usage is 600MB while surfing, and reading. I run music or a video, I have it only goes up to 610 for music maybe a high of 730 if it is a super big condense video file. I run premier on here just fine, with the PhysX software graphics are pretty flawless. I've had expensive cards, is just a shiny factor. Improves edging, and overall smoothness but meh unless you go top of the line and pick big U or just HD TV to run it on wouldn't waste my time. Memory wise I rarely go over a gig, but if video editing, or doing design work depending on software you have to use sometimes out of your control they are poor at resource handling so the 2 gig buffer works for that. The cpu like I said works just fine for what we have today, I haven't tested 4K though 1080P which has finally been adopted for the most part even at high data rates, frames, and w.e no problem. Pick an SSD for fast boot, mine goes through the boot in 15 seconds, and the logonui takes like 5 seconds if that depending so again probably won't do as much as you'd expect. For 200$ you know if it breaks who cares, works for anything serious you need. Gaming is just a kids thing for the most part. And if you set it up as a VDI you don't need security really just flashes a new copy every time. Drive fails w.e not any thing is saved to the computer ever. minimalistic is the way to go IMO.

The maximum overall WEI score for Win 7 is 7.8. 7.8 is the highest processor score and 7.9 is the highest score for everything else. The lowest score in the bunch is the overall score so the best scores one can get in a Win 7 machine is 7.8 for the processor and 7.9 for everything else.

Thanks sir, I saw someone with 9.9 so thought it might be higher. Too bad, I don't think that's a fair rating system regarding hardware advancements. Have they changed the how stringent they are with the advent of Windows 10?

Wanted to look through here for some high scores, didn't find much any one know of one? 7.5-9 seems too average...

Uh...excuse me? "Sir"? Look at my username and signature. ;)

Win 8.0 allowed a slightly higher WEI but M$ dropped WEI altogether in 8.1 (various theories about why abound but my favorite is WEI made the Surface tablets look bad).

Just a friendly euphemism, the word is abbreviated of Sire of which is derived from the word senior. I can guarantee you are older than I if taking the literal sense. Being old fashioned senior is a sign of respect of in many regards, not because they're physiologically older rather hold a superior mentality/perception on a particular subject at hand. Of which you did.

That is indeed humerous, thank you for the update... see interjecting madame here is sexist IMO. Ma (Feminine) Dame (dom, of the house), EG. domesticated. Ma-terra? We're all coadjutors, eg. mothers and fathers... progenitors of the sons, and daughters of the earth.

Am sure I've made mistakes I only know very few "English" words. Constantly improving though :/. In any case, have a good diurnal course!

(Update: dumb moment ma would work with everyone actually. The whole background of the prefix -ma is so rich. Comes back to water, reflection, then develops into mind, mother, man, hand, mound, just goes on and on. So my research on the nomenclature of mammals, and mammary glands can be updated as the terminology does work :D. Constantly over looking things. Never noticed the lack of distinguishment between sex via etymological history to such a degree. Is a sexist by-product of sociological development via castes to form cities/towns/states/countries/etc over time. Have to remember before being self-aware such things didn't exist. Took years of sociological development to distinguish such, which we did as any child would. The sad part is the propagation of such in modern times. Same with art never existed till some joint their dirty hand to a surface and had a realisation they could develop images via such a method)

So Ma-Dame is not simply sexist to just females, mostly though in modern usage though can be used toward males or whatever gender as an insult. Means slave in my opinion.
