Yeah , it was more like the best budget you could get back in Summer of 2012 . A great mobo with nice mulitimedia and gaming capabilities as well as a nice performer .

I'm new to the forum, though by no means new to computers. I wanted to post this because it makes me laugh




This is an old Toshiba P4 laptop with 768 mb RAM which I recently imaged with Win 7 just to see if it would work. This thing is FAST! Faster than my Compaq laptop with 4 gb RAM. It seems to be the fastest of my 8 computers! Go figure.

What is the model number of the Toshiba laptop in question ? Anyways , your processor (being a Pentium 4) , it's 1 of the highest scores , probably a mid-range P4

It's a Satellite P25-S676, P4-3.4 ghz, one of the last (and fastest) P4s. I just thought it funny considering that it's running less than the 1 gb minimum for Win7. Hell, XP doesn't run this good with 768 mb!

Disabling disk caching would hurt performance on a hard disk, not improve it. Are you sure that is what you did?

you are correct, caching helps speed up the process by not writing to the drive immediately. that's why when I was done with the test, I went back in a checked the box. it has something to with WEI's test on the drive. you understand why, I would like to know, but it did improve my score.
