7.3... Still working on it!

Not sure why the SSD is only getting a 7.3, need to check into that. Also haven't overclocked yet...

problem is 3.8 on a core i7 will not produce 7.9 for cpu in WEI.

Windows will not report Turbo for some reasion, E-leet shows system at 4.3 with 21X206 sometimes 22, in Turbo, still 7.7, I dont think a 7.9 is possable with a 920, which is why I expressed an interest in the post showing 7.9, as I spent concederable time and cash to hit it and gave up, pending new technology, If someone truley hit it, with what I have, I'd like to know more about what it took.
If they simpley tweeked a WEI file, I'm not interested.

I'm Really Not Sure Why Its A 7.9, You sound like you know more than i do. Hmmm. Yeah Considering We Have The Same Proccesor? Right, Wait Mine Is 960? Would It Make A Difference?

What are you using for cooling? I have an i7 975 and I just ordered that MB... curious what a good cooler is that will fit and allow for some decent OC.

I'm using a NH-U12P-SE, but was fortunite to get a good batch # 3849BXXX, Wish you luck on your 975, I've seen people on the EVGA forms get 4.5, but I've also seen people not able to get what I got with my 920. My other unit a 965 cant go above 4.0

When you do register your new MB, if you use EVGA Affiliate: VTJPDC4OMB , I get $2 EVGA bucks, and a chance at a prize at the end of the month, so if you dont have someone else in mind , :)

Wiped my score and ran again fresh.
The WD Raptor is not keeping up with the rest of the machine.
It had a score of 5.9 but now on a re-test it's 5.5

Thanks! I'm still trying to figure out why my HD score is so low. I've tried caching on and off... same score. I've attached some HDTune screenshots and the performance is great. I don't get it. I wanna know what they base their score on.

Areca 1210 RAID Controller - PCIe
2 150GB WD Velociraptors in RAID0-Striped (OS... the new 10k 2.5s with heatsinks)
2 320GB Seagate 7200.11 in RAID0 on on-board Intel RAID (Data, My Docs, etc...)

I think your numbers are excellent...but they won't measure up to an SSD drive for your OS, hence the WEI score you receive.:geek:

A 7.9 for HD in WEI is going to take something like below ( a singse Intel X25 SSD can hit 7.8) for 7.9 Raid 0 will be required.

Hello SK, you need to take the plunge into a (good) SSD, you'll be pleasantly surprised. ;)

RAM prices have gone through the roof recently, this is keeping the SSD's pretty highly priced ... :(

i wouldn't mind one just big enough for the OS maybe...... to go all out into SSD storage is UBER expensive, good magnetic storage has plenty of years left yet......:D
