Solved shut off startup repair

Hi guys

i am trying to repair a friends compac presario cq56 w/window 7 64bit
It runs start up repair everytime it is booted and fails.
I am trying to run a sfc scan but cant because the start up repair is schedualed.
cant get into safemode because of startup repair.
Ran bcdedit/set {defualt} bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures but that didnt work
typed bdcedit/set bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures and it says successful but when i restart the computer it still runs start up repair.
tried system restore and found no restore points.
running out of ideas !!

Try running Startup Repair from the booted DVD Repair console or Repair CD so that it doesn't rely on possibly corrupt system files: System Repair Disc - Create

Startup Repair should automate SFC but if not run it from Repair Command Prompt: SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot

Try also running System Restore again from the System Recovery Options

Report back results for further steps.

You can copy out your files using Install DVD/Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

You can run full Factory Recovery from its partition at boot, or using Recovery Disks. HP Backup and Recovery Manager

Or if you want a much cleaner reinstall without the factory bloatware and useless factory utilities which have much better versions built into Win7, find a Win7 installer for your version and follow these steps to get a perfect reinstall of factory OEM: Reinstalling Windows 7

ran start up repair from a windows disk and recived the same failure.
I cant run system restore because it is not finding and restore points. my guess is that that has been turned off. i am making a recovery disk now. i was just hoping i could save everything so i dont have to set up al the network settings again. there is away to shut off start up repair i just don't remeber what it is. apparently this is a common problem with hp computers but there don't seem to be any solutions out there that work. i would hate to redo the computer and in a month have to do it again

Try Startup Repair from the Win7 Installation DVD or Repair CD (only) a few more times as it sometimes needs a restart to sort multiple problems.

What does the SFC report when run from Repair Command Prompt?

wont let me run sfc it says there is a startup scan pending

ran startup repair 7 or 8 times from the install disk it still fails everytime
