Shutting down at Welcome while preparing desktop

I have Windows 7 Ultimate, and 3 pc's and I have licenses for 3.

I have a gateway desktop(Vista 64), gateway laptop(Vista 32), and a HP laptop(Vista 32).

I got Windows 7 installed on the HP laptop with no problem.

When doing a clean install on the Gateway machines, Windows 7 goes through the whole setup and installation process. I name my user account and computer name, pick passwords and choose how I want Windows to update. When it goes to prepare my desktop, it is about to load and is saying Welcome, then welcome changes from Welcome to shutting down, and the computer restarts. After the restart the Gateway recovery manager comes up and makes me restore my vista installation.

I am not using Upgrade media, however because the installation is doing the exact same thing on only the Gateway machines, and the HP installation went fine, it leads me to believe it is a issue with the manufacturer?

Anyone have any suggestions?

BTW: I have tried several times using different methods(i.e. upgrading as opposed to clean install) and still same result.

Disk management? How do I go about doing this? Sorry, I am not the smartest computer user out there, but I am smart enough I thought to install a new OS for my family lol.

Hit the Win key +R, Now type diskmgmt.msc.

Open the Window a little larger so we can get a better view.

Now hit the Alt + PrintScreen key and open Paint and choose Edit > Paste, Save the file on the desktop as diskman.jpg.

Now type something in the post box and scroll down until you see manage attachments, click the Manage Attachments, and browse to the desktop and select the diskman.jpg file and choose upload

What is the reasoning behind this, I don't see how this would provide any insight into the problem. I would normally just do this no questions asked, but as of right now my gateway laptop is completely bare. I haven't even reinstalled the gateway drivers because my I need to go through the trouble of connecting it to a ethernet cable since there are no drivers installed for my wireless network.

Had the problem with Windows 7 rebooting after the "Preparing Desktop" message. I finally found that the montior was 52" Samsung LCD and the system did not have the proper drivers to display the desktop.

I connected the computer to a standard computer VGA monitor and all was fine. I then hooked the machine to the LCD TV and it was working fine.
