I have two suggestions, which would be handy for me:
1. the delay, as mentioned before (I use top taskbar, so everytime I switch tabs in chrome.. kind of tricky )
2. option to hide icon from the taskbar (it's nice to have thinks clear)

and I use startisback app and I like your app the way it is, because it makes nice sidepanel from the start menu

ShyBar has been updated to v2.21. This adds the hotspot delayer to allow control of when the taskbar appears. Feature is still in BETA. Download link in the first post.

Sorry it's taken this long to push a new version out. Personal commitments as well as the failing health of a family member has made me put my hobby projects on the back burner for quite some time.

I love this amazing app. I was using version 2.03 up until yesterday when it somehow crashed instantly whenever I run it. I've tried uninstalling it and install 2.22 but it still crashes. It was running perfectly but then it suddenly crashed, I didn't even install any program recently. As I have no idea what might the problem be and most probably you too, so I won't expect any miracle here (well, honestly I do). But at least please tell me, any idea on how do I debug this problem? I'm on windows 7 64bit.

Nope, sorry, nothing at all. This is all I've got whenever starting up shybar on both 2.03 and 2.22:

UPDATE:
I got it fixed by reinstalling visual c++ redistributable. I don't know how and when it went corrupt, but hey, it works!

Thank you. Excellent program. A couple of remarks:
1. Although the hotspot delay is set at 0 seconds, there is still some delay. If the response would be instant, it'd be perfect.
2. Clicking the about button throws this Microsoft .NET Framework error:

Thank you. I will look into that. As for the slight delay, I'm pretty sure the code is already pretty tight there so I don't know if I can speed it up any more but I'll give it a try.

I use DisplayFusion to have my taskbar on all three monitors. Unfortunately, this on works for the primary monitor. Great app, though!

Thanks. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a multi monitor setup so I haven't been able to investigate how to get ShyBar working on extra displays.

As for Windows XP, I have not yet tested on that. If anyone does try it I hope you'll post your findings here.
